Colourful violin-making workshops and frescoed buildings line the streets of this charming Bavarian mountain town. Hike the nearby Karwendel Alpine Park trails or take the Karwendelbahn cable car for spectacular mountain views.
We loved our stay! The apartment is wonderful and set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings. It's ideally located within easy walking distance of the town and Bahnhof. Check-in was super smooth despite our late arrival. Highly recommended!

I booked the hotel late for a ski trip with my kids. The hotel was lovely. Well adorned, spacious rooms. Hotel was very clean. Wellness centre was great - lovely Jacuzzi, pool, sauna and steam room.
We had half board and the breakfast was big and varied
Ate in the restaurant once - it was a little too trad German for my kids but was well cooked
Staff are very friendly and helpful

A family hotel, run by people who combine professional competence with friendly care for their guests. It's notable that they have an active apprenticeship scheme to pass on their skills to a new generation.
Having chosen to walk the 2 kms from the station in a light drizzle we arrived weary and damp some hours before the usual check-in time to be greeted by manager Andreas Griess who, while covering all the formalities with a light touch, made us feel welcomed as house-guests.

Great hotel in the centre of Garmisch. 5 mins walk to main shopping and restaurant areas. Amazing views of Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze, directly from our room. Good little indoor pool. Very friendly staff, wearing traditional dress. Bar prices quite reasonable. Half board has good breakfast buffet and three main meal choices (meat, fish, veg) soup dessert.
Free minibar is true - you get beer and soft drinks most days.
Parking very easy - €12 per day.

The room was very clean and there was lots of cupboard and drawer space. Bathroom was modern and clean.
Pool area was very nice and the spa area was enjoyable. Plenty of towels as well. Gym was very basic. Just a treadmill, cross trainer and bike.
Staff on reception were very helpful and gave us lots of details of places to visit and eat at. I liked the 3pm cakes they provided every day! The bar and lounge area was immaculate and the staff very attentive - constantly tidying up and making...
