"While the Grand Hyatt staff is excellent, the location is super central and the food and beverage service at breakfast as well as in the Grand Club lounge is excellent, the fact remains that this is a very noisy hotel. Since the hotel was recently renovated, this is baffling for a 5 star hotel - and certainly not industry standard. Due to the central location though, there is also quite a bit of road noise - which of course can be expected in central Jakarta. In addition, there are lod music events on weekends in front of the hotel, which usually end by 10:30 pm. Thus, am early nights's sleep is only possible during weekdays. The real problem is the fact that every night around 4 am the calls the noise level from the multitude of mosques nearby does not allow an uninterrupted sleep (at least in my case) since the PAs used by the mosques are very strong and the "sessions" take up to one and a half hours" before one can try to fall asleep again.
