"Needs some attention & money spent on this hotel to live up to expectations. Staff were excellent but the hotel is clearly badly managed. Breakfast was not efficient, partly due to unusually high volume of people. The ‘ manager ‘ strutted around watching the wait staff struggle . 1 poor man trying to cook eggs for way too many people. It was a long wait for my poor husband ! "

"Staff was ok but they rarely do anything to accommodate you , area is totally isolated and only one restaurant you can order from . No transportation at all . No one to help you carry your luggage or any of that nature "

"The room was clean and comfortable. House keeping were so nice especially Suzanne. Reception was terrible, don’t have the basic of hospitality and how to be welcoming or of help with situations. In general, if you want to be around old down town and see the real Alexnadria, you can benefit from the location but rather than that, it is not the best place to enjoy a good, comfy and quiet stay. "

"The sea view is super fantastic! Location is very convenient in center Alexandria where all important places are within a walking distance or a short ride. Staff are very friendly and respectful. Street noise is a little loud. Overall, Highly recommended hotel. I gave some recommendations to the management team regarding the property to take care off and they promised to do. "

"You say it has 14 pools. Has 6 You say speak English and Arabic. No one in the hotel spoke English. Not even the manager. No ATM. I booked for collection from the airport. No one turn up. No one said why they didn’t turn up or said sorry. Not even the manager came to see me. I was the only European person in the hotel. Every other guest was from Egypt. "I wish I could give this place minus. Avoid if u are traveling alone or generally are a woman. Or if u are a breathing human being. The receptionist came to my room by false pretense there was water problem at 23:00 and made advances. I asked him to leave, he said sorry but it was too late. I was shocked and pissed. "Le Metropole is definitely the best hotel in Alexandria, and our best in Egypt. The minute you step in, you feel special. Loved the historical grandiose and the tentative service. View from our sea view room was great and so is the view from the rooftop restaurant. Breakfast has a great variety. We ate in the rooftop restaurant everyday and food was delicious. "Staff hardly spoke English. Room was spacious and clean. The bathroom needed some upgrade. The shower had molds. The curtain had mold. The mirrors were very old to the point of faded away. No breakfast. No lobby. Check in area is like someone’s living room. Many pictures on hotels.com are misleading. But the location was good. Walkable to catacomb, coniche the citadel, st mark’s and Roman theater. "
