"Hotel undergoing renovations and updating of an existing and dated hotel. Pool was closed due to repairs/renovation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a variety of choices and was maintained and good. Our room was clean and recently updated. However, our room’s wall thermostat did not work, but the old ac/heater worked manually, although it was loud and clunky. Overall, nothing to brag about but we were happy with our stay."

"Mmmhh, not the typical Hampton experience. Upon check in, the lobby seemed unusually small and with a group of 3-4 checking in ahead of us and my group of 6 it was tight; although I know this was probably an unusual situation-not a complaint just an observation. Parts of the hotel were being renovated while we were there and looks like it is going to be very nice; however, outside (back/side) it was the messiest site I have ever seen; this is speaking to the contractors doing the renovation...

"I made the reservation for my brother in law who was moving south after the recent passing of his wife. I chose this hotel specifically because it said it offered a full breakfast. How disappointing to learn from my brother in law that it only offered basically muffins and coffee!"

"Clean and updated room, nice bedding and towels, AC unit works great; just no coffee maker or hair dryer so if these are a must, bring your own. I stayed here to travel in between Hungry Mother and Mt Rogers areas, great hiking and mountain views. Saltwell and Skull Gap are nice overlook areas, also Virginia 16 for Back of the Dragon. Rogers is about 20 min away, as is Hungry Mother, Chilhowie is the perfect small town spot to stay in. "

"Hotel was clean everywhere. Looked practically new. There are lots of options for restaurants nearby. Staff was beyond friendly. Breakfast was really good and fresh and area was kept clean and stocked. Mountain view was nice. "

"I reserved a non smoking room, and my room smelled like smoke. My key card wasnt reset so after hauling all my luggage to my room, i wasnt able to get in . Over all not terrible, but probably wouldnt book here again. "
