"Overall, found the staff to be very friendly and courteous; the only reason I was unable to give five stars was due to my room smelling like stale cigarette smoke, despite being a smoke-free room (no fault of the owners). "This is one of the older Residence Inns, the room had old furniture, very dramb walls, no photos; the toilet bowl color was fading; the kitchen had old appliances; no ice containers; The heating/cooling system (HVAC) was not working correctly. The front desk sent the engineer to check the system. His response, the system was not working correctly because the return air duct for that room was too small for the unit and it would take hours to warm the room. He placed the thermostat on 75 degrees...

"The motel was an older one that the current owners did not bother to upgrade the rooms. The room & bathroom had damaged walls, stains on the walls and tiles, areas where something on the walls or furniture was either removed or broken but never replaced or repaired. The room phone was not plugged nor worked when I plugged it in to the wall phone jack. I arrived too late to check and find other accommodations. I did not know the area. The TV remote needed new batteries. Remember I said there was...

"Great that it’s across the street from the beach. Plants on their front porches need some TLC and clean up around the floor where they sit. Old hotel with thin walls and floors, could hear everything on the floor above us. Otherwise, nicely decorated, clean bathroom. I would stay again, but on the top floor."

No coffee machine in the office nor in the room, so visit Dave at Ma's across the street for a good cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast. A little further down is a 7-11. Avoid Boathouse401 at all costs. They call cops at the drop of a hat. "
