The hotel is very nice and centrally located. The bar is very nice but extremely busy and we found it difficult to actually have a drink there. The good news is there are a number of good places in the area.

This is my honest review: The exterior of the hotel and lobby are original, with beautiful architecture, and the location is very central. However, the rooms and hallways were outdated and felt unclean—there was black mould in the grout on the bathroom tiles, and the carpets clearly needed a professional cleaning. I understand this may be part of the hotel’s “aesthetic,” but I don’t think there’s any excuse for the room being dirty. Much of the furniture in the room also felt like it needed updating. The carousel bar was packed every time we went, so we eventually gave up trying to get in (which was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel). It’s also very close to Bourbon St, so walking back after dark didn’t feel like the safest experience. Overall, nothing about the hotel really stood out to us—it was simply a place to sleep.

Rooms are small, no closet or place to hang clothes, but that was ok, given the age of the building that is to be expected. Valet parking staff at night was rude. The biggest issue for me however, was there was fraudulent activity from the hotel on my credit card. They charged over $3,500.00 to my credit card several times, after trying to deposit a different amount to my credit card. This caused me to spend hours of my vacation on the phone with my credit card company. This issue (which was entirely caused by the hotel) was very poorly handled by staff. I was made to feel like it was my fault, and that I was trying to keep their funds. If you go to this beautiful historic hotel, proceed with caution!

The property is old. But that’s the charm of the building. Rooms are small but very comfortable. The Staff was very nice except for one. But I got over it. A hotel should not be judged for one bad apple. I would stay at this hotel again because of the location, the charm of the building and very nice staff.

We arrived early with my son and girlfriend, their room was ready, but ours wasn’t and by the time our room was ready the hotel put us in a handicap room on the 14th floor on the older side of the hotel that was outdated! My sons room on the 5th floor was a beautiful modern room When we complained about it to the front desk, we were told that we were put in that room because we booked with a third party (Expedia) we were so offended, we had to argue with the manager, and had to stay in the outdated room with a tub with a plastic shower curtain, outdated tv for our first night, we were finally moved to the 7th floor and a modern room, but the damage was done! We will never stay in that hotel again! And will think twice about booking through Expedia if this is how we will be treated!

Excellent service, both from the hotel and it's restaurant. Comfortable room. Surprisingly quiet considering we were in the Quarter. Would definitely stay there again.

The staff was excellent, friendly and responsive to our needs. The Carousel Bar was beautiful and so much fun we ended up staying there for about two hours. The hotel was in the heart of the quarter, but not noisy because it was just around the corner from where the action was. If you want a perfect place to stay, try the Hotel Monteone

Wonderful hotel with history in the heart of the French Quarter! The rotating bar is the best! The beds were comfy with excellent pillows- soft and plenty. The bathroom was tight, obviously updated from an older version; the complimentary toiletries a pleasant scent, and the bath robe handy since I forgot mine. I loved the decor and architecture and proximity to fantastic restaurants and musical venues.

I love this hotel. I have been to the French Quarter many times and have stayed in many lovely hotels but never at Hotel Monteleone. I've drank at the Carousel Bar and have worked out in their gym and sat by the rooftop pool (I stayed at their sister hotel so you get use of the facilities) but have never stayed there. Although it is a bit more expensive than some other hotels in the French Quarter, it is worth it. The hotel is beautiful and the staff treats you like royalty. I really felt pampered. I give it a 100% rating!

I had a fantastic weekend stay at Hotel Monteleone. The room was spotless and had a fresh, inviting scent, which made it feel comfortable and well cared for. One of the highlights was the rooftop pool—an ideal spot to unwind and relax while enjoying the atmosphere. The Carousel Bar was another standout feature, offering a unique and vibrant experience that really added to the overall charm of the hotel. Overall, Hotel Monteleone offers something for everyone, blending comfort, service, and memorable amenities into a truly enjoyable stay. I would definitely return.
