"This was a return trip within seven days. Our hope in staying here either time was that the property would be in a similar state as the previous chain (Drury) kept it. I hoped the new owners had refurbished it. The following details are for two different stays withing six days in two different accessible rooms. The facility has been poorly maintained. Sheets didn't feel crisp and clean. Carpets needed to be cleaned, doors need to be varnished or replaced, the receptacles on one of the bedside light fixtures didn't work, the toilet squealed, there were tailgate parties on Friday night with loud music, and we even found two bullet casings in the parking lot on our return trip. We saw one roach in the room. The evening meal was salad, barbecue (pretty good barbecue), and hot dogs. The drinks were pretty good. Breakfast was good and what we expected. Horton, I believe was his name, added a bright and happy quality to the visit. The floor staff were kind and engaging. The administrative staff (check-in) were cordial. They don't want you to take food to your room and they actually put a charge on your room until they check to make sure you left it in good shape. They note that it may take 305 days for the refund to show up after you leave. Overall, we were disappointed. We had hoped it would at least keep up with Drury standards. I wish I didn't have to say this. We would not go back unless we had too. We'd probably take an entirely different route."
