Horrible

The room was not clean, the towels were not clean, there was no thermostat. so if you were hot or cold, you couldn't do anything about it. I called over 10 times and still haven't received a response.

We didn't receive instructions to self check in. We called both numbers given and received no response. Finally had to call expedia. We were finally able to enter the room over an hour later. Also, it was not very clean. For dirty, trash not emptied spider webs along baseboard as we entered.

I booked a lake view room and there’s nothing but trees in front of the room so no lake view at all. It shouldn’t be labeled as such. Also the room itself was dirty and grimy. The shower had mold and hairs and clearly hadn’t been cleaned.

I enjoyed the old style items in the room, including the rotary phone, although it was just a prop. I liked how the rooms were named after characters in The Great Gatsby novel.

We have stayed there 3 years in a row and every year its gets worse .we had 3 rooms and all had issues, dirty, poor drainage,lack of customer service. Poor experience. Inused to rave about it but now i cant wait to forget it. Towels available after checkout, towels in the room were wet .just not great. Needs someone who cares. Also attendent ill say was so smelly. I would not recommend.

The room looked like it hadn’t cleaned in a month, felt like I was walking on the beach in our room. It’s listed as a lake view and the “view” is of trees that you can barely see water through. There was toothpaste splatter on the mirror, sand on the floor, broken bed, something caked on the bathroom door. I definitely wouldn’t stay again.

Loved their Great Gatsby theme especially after many hotel rooms that basically look the same. Although the room and bathroom were on the smaller and older side, it was a fun place to be and an easy walk to the shore and a restaurant. Even had an outdoor patio to enjoy.

July 4th stay

Room was clean and convenient to the lake. We only had coffee cup for one person as well as creamer. It was perfect for our one night stay and we will rebook. We will just check for amenities before the front desk leaves. Thank you.

We had a comfortable, relaxing, enjoyable stay. Being able to swim in the Great Sacandaga Lake was quite a summertime treat! Staff is friendly and responsive.

Propery was falsely advertised on Expedia, images didn't match current state of the Motel, floors was dirty, spider webs at the beds, no lake view, it was only visible through trees. I am going to social media with this matter as expedia should update their rating with properties. Will think twice to book with expedia again, as ratings cant be trusted. Its definitely not 8.6 rating rater 4 and for the price, actually want to request a refund. I took images you can contact me if interested in the images

Bathroom sink drain was stuck in the closed position, making it unusable. There was no soap or conditioner. I reached out to the hotel at 1:30p about these issues and I received a response 6-7 hours later. I paid $160 for one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. It mentions lake view in the description. Even if you stood on the roof and jumped, you are not seeing that lake. This is a run down motel in disguise. Garbage owner of a garbage hotel. Give it a pass.

Bad bed, inadequate door locks. Not recommended.

I don't like to give bad reviews, but in this case I feel it's necessary -- and it's also something the management can fix easily. A hotel room of any kind *must* be safe, and the bed must be reasonably comfortable. Our room had two doors, both leading outside, and neither had either a deadbolt or interior latch. Which means anyone with a key or the code could enter at any time. That's not safe or secure, and for me it's a showstopper. Especially in our case when I believe we were the only guests at the property. The mattress was just terrible. I know mattresses are expensive, and I don't demand a hotel mattress be perfect. But this one was way past its usable life -- it was horribly uncomfortable and we barely slept. In addition to that, the property was unstaffed during our stay, and the check-in instructions we received by email were incorrect. I had to call someone, who asked for personal information they shouldn't have had to, claiming they didn't get it from hotels.com. On the plus side, the front patio is very nice, the property has a lake view, and there are two restaurant/bars across the street for a nearby place to eat. But unless they add interior latches to the doors and replace the mattress, I won't be back.
