"A really lovely accommodation with the most incredible views. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony so you wake up to a view of the mountails The host Priyanatha is so warm, welcoming and always available to help. Breakfast was lovely (especially the hoppers). A short walk (or tuk tuk) into town. Loved my stay here! Thank you!"

"An amazing experience, sleeping in the canopy of the forest. We saw lots of animals and fireflies at night. Accommodation is basic as you would expect but beds and bathroom were clean. Ella is a 5-10 minute walk away via the railway tracks. Route was easy to find as directed by our host. Breakfast was delicious and filling."

"We had the BEST time at Ella Retreat! Sadly on 34 hours long but this hotel is seriously beautiful, better than the pictures. You need a head for heights on the (slightly hairy) tuk tuk ride up the mountain, but once you're there this is a haven that you simply cannot afford to miss on your trip to Sri Lanka. Colombia, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Jordan, Sri Lanka, and Ella Green Cottages had the best mattress I've had all year. My first night at Ella Green Cottages was literally the best night of sleep that I had in months. Also, whenever I needed anything, the employees immediately stopped doing whatever they were doing and saw to my needs. Best customer service I experienced in the country. "

"This place is magical! Truly a stay in the jungle. There’s no road to the cabin so the last part you have to walk on the railway. However the staff were really helpful and carried our suitcases the whole way - so do recommend to pack lightly. The place was amazing and the staff were so kind and helpful. Highly recommend! "

"Great location, right next to the Main Street where all the restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is more of a guest house. Rooms are very basic - but very large. Can easily accommodate 4 people. Breakfast is either sri-lanken or western, they are very generous with the quantities. If you are looking for a 4/5 star hotel - it’s not the place for you. It is a low budget option for families who prefer that kind of experience. We enjoyed :)"
