"I think of a Ritz Carlton as an over the top experience but I feel the Amelia Island Ritz is underwhelming. With all resort fees, parking cost etc., the nightly room charge was $1400. That is no food or activity charges. We were disappointed their “Salt” restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday so did not get to eat there. Other eating options are fine but not special by any means."

"For the pric I was disappointed. Room size of small box. One chair no table or desk to put personal items on. We used the floor ugh. Far from expectations "

"Stayed at Hoyt House in early April. Weather was lousy. Everything else was great. Location is within easy walking distance of restaurants and stores of Fernandino Beach. Everything in the Inn was in top shape, and a lot of thought clearly went into making the guests comfortable. Umbrellas when it rained. A glass of wine in the afternoon. Plenty of places to sit witha book or other activity. "

"The property is very nice and well situated in town. Breakfast was nice and the bar next door was fun. While I understand it is old and maybe difficult to handle certain aspects, the musty smell and apparent mold in the bathroom was unpleasant. However maybe this isn’t the case in the newer rooms."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay. Our king room on the first floor was very comfortable, spotless, had a large bathroom, and even a little back deck. The historic property was beautifully restored and clearly very well cared for by innkeeper Veronica and her team. Veronica's gourmet breakfasts were a huge treat, different every morning, and served with attention to every detail in the elegant dining room. Veronica was happy to share suggestions on activities and restaurants in the area....

"The furniture was very outdated and damaged. The fridge had rust all over it. The floor looked unclean. Overall it was just bad."

"St. Marys is a beautiful small town on the water, and the Spencer Inn was the perfect place to stay. The accommodations were wonderful, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious, with cold and hot options. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Wonderful stay. "

"Poor experience Was woken up by front desk asking me to stop naking noise and running in room! I was asleep and at 80 not sure I can do what they accused me of doing... So never again this terrible chain"
