This hotel is a small property operated and I presume owned by a family. Most of the guests are Spanish speaking as is the family. Although I do not speak Spanish I was able to communicate adequately with my limited Spanish and the staff/family limited English. The property is located about a 10-15 minute walk along a busy main street from the lake. At night the narrow or non-existent sidewalk caused one to be in close contact with the busy traffic when walking h

Very friendly staff. Cute, clean place. The bed was a bit hard for my liking. The only recommendation I have is the need for a place to plug in the phone next to the bed. I had to move the bed to find an outlet.

Exceptional stay at Posada de Don Jose! Posada de Don Jose is an absolutely wonderful hotel. Everything is spotless, exceptionally well cared for, and the staff are genuinely warm, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, making it a perfect place to stay. A small delicious breakfast is available for a small extra charge and is well worth it. The location is okay: just a 10-minute walk to the town center and about 20 minutes to the ferry docks. Tuk-tuks pass by frequently and cost only USD 1. If I ever return to Panajachel, I would book this hotel again without hesitation. Highly recommended!
