Riva Palace Hotel

"This is my go-to hotel in Grado. It is modern and clean and more comparable to international hotel standards than most hotels. It's walking distance to the old town. If you get a room on the side of the laguna, you have kind of a cute view of Italian boats. There are a few things I wish the hotel did differently. The AC could go a little bit lower as in some rooms, it doesn't quite get the job done (although it is OK, especially for an Italian hotel). I with the hotel had a pool. Or at least, I wish the hotel had more shaded seating on the roof-top terrasse. Without any sun protection, it is just too hot to sit up there, which pretty much nullifies that they even have that. And I am just not going to use the small indoor pool. I guess perhaps that makes more sense in the winter, but I have only visited in the summer. I like the breakfast they offer. The staff has always been great. And when in Italy, you generally have the problem that the hotel standard isn't close to international hotel standards. I like visiting Grado for a few days, as the old town is just incredible. But for the longest time, not having an adequate hotel was a downer to me, especially compared to many of the international locations I go to. But this hotel has become my favorite. It's obviously not a 5-star experience, but it isn't claiming to be. And the price is more than fair. I'd recommend it, unless you expect a pool."

"Great location, on the beach and 5 minutes by bike to the city centre/10 minutes walk. Swimming pool, restaurant, bar and bike rental available at the property, which is excellent! Very friendly and professional staff. Negative though is that there is no cleaning service at the apartments, you will need to do that yourself throughout all of your stay there ( not even products left for you to clean the place) and that no prevention was done for mosquitos, we ended up daily with over 20 mosquitos in every room (disinfestazione o zanzariere would have solved it)."

"I think one of the best customer service I ever had. The Staff is super professional and friendly, from the receptionists to the domestic assistants and the bar attendants. Hotel always clean, very good breakfast. The only thing I wasn’t very happy about was the price of the parking but all the rest was perfect!!"

"We were looking for a location at which we could combine some exploration of historic sights with some relaxing time at the beach. Grado is probably unknown to most Americans, but I highly recommend the town. The Eliani is an ideal location, and they even provide parking. Staff was VERY helpful."

"This hotel is located in the center of Grado near the grand canal. It is very close to dozens of restaurants and shops and 10 min walk to 2 public beaches. Hotel staff was very efficient and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful (typical Italian fare). Parking, albeit limited and tight, is available in a secure area accessible from the hotel’s lobby. Recommend getting a junior suite; the less expensive rooms are very small. "
