"Beautiful property in the heart of an amazing city. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They made a delicious birthday cake for our son and we had a great evening in the restaurant with excellent food and service. One of our rooms did however smell of damp and the door didn’t lock properly, it is a cave but none of the other rooms were like this, it wasn’t pleasant but they happily moved us to another one. Small details could be improved, bathrobes worn thin and room service trays left in the rooms and only collected when repeatedly asked. Otherwise a gorgeous hotel and a lovely stay. "

"Unique Experience in Matera! A real adventure—sleeping in a beautiful cave room was unforgettable! The breakfast was fantastic, and the people were so kind and friendly. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the design of the room kept the history alive. Plenty of great restaurants around, all within walking distance. We would love to come back again!"

"We would definitely recommend this property, just highlighting a lot of confusion around dining table assignments, and that for some reasons the outdoor one kept being moved under the sun despite plenty of availability under the shaded areas and us moving the tables every time clearly annoyed of the sun. Another element of improvement we would have liked is availability of water bottle refilling stations around the property."
