"This was our 2nd time staying. Our first time could not have been better! This 2nd stay was not nearly as "quality". The breakfast and happy hour wasn't as high quality, it also seemed like we and other guests found ourselves waiting for staff to come back from the kitchen for us to be able to get things like a napkin, a plate to eat our apps over, a 2nd beverage, coffee, etc. But the real sour grapes for us was that we ALWAYS make a point to collect towels, any trash, & ensure decorative pillows are placed on a chair vs the floor, etc. to not leave added work to the maid service staff. However, we brought a left over taco back to the room with us the first night. It was after front desk hours so no way to obtain a napkin so we used a hand towel to place under us to protect the linens. Some sauce spilled out onto the hand-towel and we also used it to wipe our lips. Long story short, when I received our Credit Card statement we discovered a $25 charge on our card with no notice to us.. When we called we were told it was for that hand towel!! FYI..Grandeur Hospitality Hand Towels 12pk $19.99 at Costco just like the ones they have. We requested a call from the Mgr but never heard back. Between the downgrade in quality of the breakfast & happy hour coupled by the full gouging on a hand towel we likely won't be going back and also decided not to refer 1906 as planned to a lady we had met the night before we checked out while out to dinner who is a regular visitor to Coronado.
