"Advertisement: Average expectations - Room description in Hotel.com was semi accurate, pictures shown mislead you to believe you will be getting a more spacious room, reality was not close. Location: Above expectations - Conveniently close and walkable, with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation. Safe area, Cleanliness: Above expectations - Room clean and neat. Room Comfort: Average expectations - Was reasonably comfortable, meet our expectations overall. Staff & Service: Above expectations – They were polite, friendly and helpful as expected. Amenities: Average expectations - Basic and did not offer much. Value: Average expectations - We feel the hotel provided good value for the money we paid. Breakfast: We left early, we didn't have a chance to experience the breakfast, we believe it was not offered and or included as part of the price paid. Atmosphere: Above expectations - Was good, welcoming feeling we expected. Overall: Above expectations - we were satisfied with our stay and would probably choose to stay here again. Recommendation: Based on our experience, we will recommend this hotel"

"Nice hotel, room fully outfitted with refrigerator and coffee marker, staff provided a kettle upon request, pretty well maintained (some stuff like the cabinet doors could have been maintained better). Staff super friendly and everyone spoke perfect English*. Hotel in a nice part of town and easy to walk to the bus station where all the tours left from (1km) *Note, it is not a requirement for staff to speak my language, but it is functionally easier for me since I do not speak French. Just a nice to have feature ;)"

"Hotel Royal staff is fantastic, both helpful and friendly and is frankly the best part of the establishment. There are other good amenities: on-site valet parking, free public transport ticket provided by the front desk staff, ability to wash up after a day in the city if you are returning after your check out. The hotel bar was going through some sort of renovation this august, so that does not help the overall ambiance but is understandable. What I was not thrilled about: tiny rooms cooped up as they face the train lines, not the best part of town, a bit seedy for my taste, the neighborhood has lots of ethnic restaurants and such and as I came to see Geneva, I wanted to see Swiss Geneva. For those that are looking to be near a train station and walking distance to most things even the old town, a quick 10 min tram ride saves you time, and I consider it a convenient option."
