"Great place to stay, will definitely stay again."

"The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The resort is a very nice place to be. The room was very pleasant. However, if you are staying 6 nights or less, don't expect to have your room cleaned. We were told quite curtly by reception staff that we wouldn't be having our room cleaned 'for our length of stay.' I thought this ruined an otherwise perfectly lovely stay, I didn't think room service was too large of an ask given the price paid."

"Had a wonderful 10 night stay at Shantara. We loved being so close to Macrossan st and the beach, while the pool was an amazing end to each day. The Hotel was peaceful, beautiful and quiet. As is normal for Far North Queensland, there is not everyday cleaning service but we don’t use that anywhere anyway. Plenty of parking, but if you didn’t bring a car everything is walking distance with shuttle bus options for longer journeys. The only black mark of the stay were our neighbours on the pool...

"We stayed in a beautiful 3 bedroom Villa. It was perfect for our family of 7. Hotel staff was wonderful. Great looking property and fabulous pool area. Location is less than ten minutes from central Port Douglas. Access to the beach. We will definitely return for a longer stay!"

The apartment and surrounding communal areas was very clean and had everything you needed for a relaxing stay including laundry facilities, bbqs and a car park. "On arrival after being told we were able to check in at 12.00 PM we were informed that our accomodation would not be ready before 14.00. This was unacceptable as we had a wedding to attend at 13.50. The female behind the counter (owner i pressume) told us the previous people would not leave on time. She was not interested in my dilemma and became very hostile she told us we were free to find other accommodation elsewhere which would be impossible at this late hour.
