"Food offerings were pretty standard, although the Teppanyaki was awesome. Pool was very good. Boat to the Erakor resort for Lunch/Dinner was very useful. Significant refurbishment from 8am to 5pm was annoying, made it difficult to relax on the verandah - due to drilling/grinding etc. Room was well located next to the lagoon, spacious and functional. Loved our 1st visit to Vanuatu, the close proximity of Erakor and Ramada hotels provided lots of eating/drinking options."

"The Melanesian is a long-standing feature of the Port Vila accommodation scene and it's very well-priced. The Orchid Rooms are very pleasant but they all face onto the pool area. So you will want to have the windows shut if the music played at the bar and people's conversations bother you. The AC unit in my room did an OK job with keeping the room comfortable even with windows shut. The rooms have a good desk and small table for people needing to do work while there. "I would like a refund for the accommodation. The property was not as advertised. There was no operating restaurant. The room was unclean The shutters on the windows broken. Overall very unsatisfactory and not what was represented. I would like my $1200 money returned."
