"Very pleasant owner, she checked me in, and conveniently helped me extend my stay so I didn't have to move to another hotel. They're slowly making improvements on the place and I appreciate that because what's not awesome now, is definitely going to be improved on later.
I knocked off a star because of a few ants in the bathroom and also because there was no AC, only fans and 2 built-in heaters. The fans they had were sufficient though, because the room stays pretty cool, unless you have all the shades open and the sun bakes the room.
Still, I really loved the fact that my daughter and I had separate spaces to be in with the kitchenette and the bathroom separating us, and our own TVs. The fridge is also a full fridge, with an actual freezer of its own. Very useful for when one is on the road a lot.
For the most part, the room was quite quiet, save for the fact that, since we were on the first floor, my bed was right up against the wall to the back parking lot. So, when people arrived late at night, the door slamming was quite alarming. But I rarely heard any heavy foot traffic from upstairs, which is the usual bane of my staycation experiences.
All in all, I would happily stay here again. It's a block away from Commercial Ave and all my fave food places. And the lady boss checks in on us from time to time when she sees us."
