"The Culvert is an atypical hotel accommodation. The cylinder shaped cocoons are clean and fun to stay in and the staff is very friendly. This is an open air concept with everything, except you room, being outside. Premises are located on a hill which means a lot of stairs - and they are no longer in perfect condition. "Excellent AC in room. Room described on here as "sea view" turns out to be "partial sea view", which is the description used on the hotel's own website.
Staff very good, especially in restaurant which has a separate vegan menu with some good options.
Some evidence that maintenance has suffered, such as a missing tile on pool and water leaking through to children's pool. Water leaking from toilet handle in room. Signs direct to a spa that no longer exists."

"Loved my stay at Ranee. Great location, amazing and friendly staff and beautiful rooms.
Wish I could have stayed longer and would definitely stay again if I am lucky enough to return to Kuching.

"Very conveniently located at the Kuching Waterfront. It can get noisy because of festivities at the nearby temple including drums and firecrackers. There are a lot of stairs especially if you stay on the second floor and no elevators. It’s a historic property so it lacks the amenities of a hotel. For short stays up to a week."
