We liked the closeness to downtown. We did NOT like the stained carpets, dirty walls of our room, dusty sink, semi-plugged shower drain, broken/taped mirror door of our closet, and overall dirty appearance of the older section of Neutor Hotel in Salzburg.

Bus from train station stops right outside the hotel but is was an easy walk to the main sights both in the old town and across the river. Spacious room, good shower, heating which could be adjusted. The only thing which would have made it better for us would be a kettle/cups in the room to make a hot drink!

Perfectly comfy, close to Old town
I can have no major faults with this hotel. It's actually two buildings, with one across the road from the other. The plus is the hotel is right in the bus route to the main train station and the bus goes through the old town.

When we arrived it was not possible to check in even though it was after checkin time. We were given a room in another building which was not clean and smelled bad. The building itself was in a state of disrepair. After complaining we got a room in the main building which as just OK. It was not, no AC, and there were two fans neither of which worked. I've stayed here before but cannot imaging coming back again.

Location is far from train station but line 1 bus takes you right outside. Great location to the city centre. Everything is walkable! Room is a bit dated but beds are super comfortable. They also provide you with a fan because there is no AC. Also liked the full window. Would stay again !

Fantástic
Very nice Hotel, they have 2 houses one next to another, the one I stayed is where the reception and breakfast room are, easy check in, very friendly staff, nice rooms, about 1 minute walk to the old town area, good shower and nice bed They have some blinds that you can pull down and the room gets very dark

Don’t go here!
Horrific, dirty, stains everywhere, smells horrible, plug sockets hanging off the wall and cables hanging on by the last wire. We complained and then got an ‘upgrade’ which was only a nicer room but still have the same problems as the last room.

Very helpful reception staff. Anna immediately arranged for me to move room: there was a terrible smell in it and at - 6 C opening the window at 8 pm for an hour was not an option. It’s location is the best feature. Just walk through the tunnel and you are in the centre of the town.

Too hot to handle
The day we arrived it was 93 degrees F in Salzburg. Granted, unseasonably warm. We were so excited to see the city, but having NO air conditioning (which was a total rookie mistake on my part) was a big drawback. Regretfully, I didn't make the connection that A/C needed to be sought out as an amenity. Being on the fourth floor with little moving air made our stay difficult (thankfully we did have 2 fans provided by the hotel) . To cope, we only went back to to the room in the late evening when we hoped it would have cooled down. The balcony saved us. We kept our sliding door open all night, which wasn't the most secure plan, as the balconies are all connected, but it succeeded in helping to cool the room so we could sleep. The carpet was really old and dirty looking. The bathroom was clean, so no problem there. Breakfast was not included. I wouldn't stay here again.

Good location and Value.
It was not a fancy room, but it was clean, the breakfast was good, the staff were good and the price and location were very good, especially for Saltzburg during peak season and during Pentecost Festival. They do not have airc onditioning and it was hot during the day but in the mountains it cools off very nicely at night and they provided a fan.

Very run down. Old carpets, no fan/air conditioning. Hot summer - and we were sweltering in the heat! No coffee/tea making facilities - we had to bring a flask to the bar (across the road in the adjacent property) to ask for hot water. location - good, easily accessible with bus stop right outside.

My disappointments were my own fault - the website had reverted to USD, so I got a shock when I saw my credit card, and value wasn't quite as good as I thought. And there was no kettle or bar fridge (though when I read the info it doesn't state that there will be). The room was quite quiet, and there was a bath. There is no reception in the building, you have to go over the road for any questions.

The road is very busy hence it is noisy in the room. light-sleepers, run away! I tried to buy coffee at the café, they refused to let me pay by card even though there is no ATM around the hotel. When I finally got cash, they charged me nearly 4 euros for a double espresso which did not taste good.

Nice for short stays in Salzburg, hotel restaurant is expensive though. Very close to the city center just a few minute walk to every main city attraction. Recommended.

Anna at the front desk was great as we communicated before I checked in and answered all my questions. The property is just located outside the tunnel to the city but you can get anywhere really in about 15 mins or take the tram buses.

We like the location but the beds we slept on were very unconfortable. Since there is no coffee pot in the rooms we stayed, when we went to the restaurant attached to the hotel to ask for some hot water, we was not treatedl right, one of the staff ruined my travelmates writer bottle.

Terrible servicio QUITEN ESTE HOTEL DE SU SITIO
Una vez entrando al edificio te das cuenta que nada que ver con lo que muestran, el elevador no tiene menos de 50 años y solo cabe una persona con maleta así que hay que dar 2 vueltas. La habitación es vieja, despintada, la alfombra manchada, sin aire acondicionado y el wifi no sirve, la regadera de teléfono esta inservible no se sostiene no se como pretenden que alguien se bañe con una sola mano. Todo esta ilógicamente planeado y por supuesto sin mantenimiento. Cuando pensamos que era malo, todo empeoro. Resulta que NUNCA LIMPIARON LA HABITACION EN 4 DIAS, el primero pensamos que había sido que salimos tarde aunque para ser honestos nunca vimos a alguien de limpieza en el edificio, el segundo nos quejamos con el encargado y se limito a decir “yo no soy de limpieza pero mañana reviso”. Al tercer día salimos desde muy temprano y regresamos en la noche y oh sorpresa tampoco habían limpiado, resulta que las supuestas recamaristas solo tienen un turno así que a la hora que reclamábamos no había nada que hacer. Nos quedamos sin papel higiénico y sin jabón ni para lavarnos las manos. Las recepcionistas son lo que sigue de groseras, pedantes, te faltan al respeto y te humillan, se limitan a decir: ¡no es mi problema! Nunca pudimos hablar con el gerente ya que era fin de semana y el no trabaja y no se le puede molestar, lo único que nos dieron fueron los nombres de él y de la recepcionista.

Dear Guest, thank you very much for your review. I just would like to point out a few things. Your room has been cleaned as good as possible. Unfortunately you used the red "Do not disturb" card until the afternoon, so that our housekeeping was not able to clean the room anymore. If I remember correctly, you claimed with me - the manager - on friday evening about the cleaning. The next day you used the red card again until around 2.30 pm, although I have personally informed you, that after a certain time (around 2 pm) the cleaning is not possible any more. The housekeeping informed me, that they only could do some basic cleaning, as there were personal belongings and clothes scatterd on the bed and sofa alike. It's not the duty of our staff, to pack your clothes away to get the possibility to prepare your bed. For your information - we do not mention anywhere that we have air condition in our rooms, as wo don't have them in our rooms. If you would have informed us about the WIFI problems, we could have checked that. Usually we have excellent WIFI conneciton through out the hotel. With kind regards Axel Teckentrup-Kurz, Manager

The room was clean and the staff pleasant and helpful. No air conditioning and no where to sit but the bed. Breakfast was too expensive to be an option for us. The hotel was affordable in very expensive Salzburg but far off the beaten path. Public transportation was a long walk.
