"Excellent stay, despite concerns from recent reviews
We were quite concerned before arriving after reading recent reviews mentioning mould, damp, maintenance issues and construction noise. However, our experience was completely different.
We stayed in room 418, which was spacious, clean, comfortable and had a fantastic terrace overlooking the bay. We experienced no damp, mould or maintenance problems. There was some minor peeling paint on the balcony, but nothing that affected our stay.
We couldn't see the nearby construction from our room and couldn't hear it indoors with the doors closed. The storms stopped work for several days, though, so other guests' experiences may vary.
The staff throughout the hotel were fantastic, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The spa was excellent, the gym was well equipped for a basic workout, and the rooftop bar had wonderful views and drinks.
Breakfast was excellent, although €40 per person felt a little expensive.
Our only suggestion would be a better introduction to the hotel's facilities for first-time guests. The digital hotel guide didn't work properly on either of our phones.
Overall, a fantastic stay. I can't comment on other guests' experiences, but we had none of the serious problems mentioned in some recent reviews.
