The room was a good size and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. We arrived later than we had told the host, but Pedro was waiting for us and appeared within seconds of us getting out of the car. He explained everything and even showed us how to work the shower (which is lovely). The breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and home made preserves, was simple and perfect.

A beautifully maintained property, room very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Charming and elegant owners, justifiably proud of there home and business. A petting 'zoo' of lovely birds and animals is included in their land. Dogs were welcomed and good safe walking is immediately outside the gate. Lovely breakfast included. Nearby town did not have much to offer but we ate well there.

Fabulous location, set in vineyards and olive groves. Ended up in one of the suites overlooking the pool, which was wonderful. Restaurant menu was varied and the food was good. Great staff, who also arranged a visit to the Santa Vitoria wine cellars for us.

Nice hotel in the centre with a great breakfast! Small pool on the roof but can get crowded so I wasn't able to make use of it. Lovely breakfast and very nice comfortable, quiet room with balcony.

Herdade do Vau is truly an oasis tucked away in the heart of the countryside. While the journey to get there is a bit of an adventure—4 kilometers along a rocky road (more rock than dirt, despite the hotel’s prior description)—the effort is well worth it. It took us about 20 minutes to drive the track, so a car is essential, and once you arrive, it feels like a secluded escape, making leaving feel like a challenge in the best way. The hotel offers the option to pre-order dinner if arranged in...

Lovely experience from friendly, conscientious hosts during difficult times( covid)
The food was freshly cooked and delicious it was reasonably priced and meant after exploring the area you could return for a pleasant evening without having to drive after wine etc.
Would recommend this place wholeheartedly.

Have stayed before and for us its the perfect location with easy access to everything.
Great bar and bar snacks. Good breakfast (typical Portuguese)
No swimming pool but that really isnt a problem for us.
Rooms decent size but no kettle etc but as there are cafés every few metres we dont feel its a problem.

Stayed one night. Enjoyed fabulous sunsets over the vineyards. What a charming place! It's got vineyards, fruit trees, exotic animals, it's own bullring, wine production on site, fresh air.......magic! Ideal for a romantic getaway.
