Hampton By Hilton Guanacaste Airport
10/10 Excellent
"New build, clean rooms and lobby area. The complimentary breakfast was really good, lots of options beside the standard eggs, waffles, sausages. Complimentary shuttle to the airport!"

Condovac la Costa
6/10 Okay
"It is old and shows it. Our room had bugs from outside they came in around the unsealed door both side and underneath. Only 2 restaurants. Main redo was buffet and food was the same each day. Had to fight the flies for the food. Indoor restaurant was reservation only in the evening, really good food and service, but was not open every day. The staff was wonderful. The were friendly and went beyond to make our stay better. We will not return until grounds and buildings are cleaned up. "

Villas Sol Beach Resort
8/10 Good
"I stayed at the hotel. The room had an ocean view, was clean, and comfortable. The only inconvenience was that the AC wasn't cooling enough. I requested a technician to fix the issue, but none was ever sent."

Occidental Papagayo - Adults Only - All inclusive
6/10 Okay
"Pool yes"

W Costa Rica - Reserva Conchal
10/10 Excellent
"We had the most amazing stay at the W. The staff was absolutely wonderful. I will say that the room was a little “lived in”. The leather was very worn on the sofa and there were stains on the throws. However, the property is beautiful, the staff was more than helpful, kind and accommodating and the food was fantastic. We would absolutely visit again! "

Hilton Garden Inn Guanacaste Airport
6/10 Okay
"I stayed at this hotel many times in the the past landing in Liberia Airport and it has been a decent stay. My most recent stay I booked a standard king room but when I arrived they said that they no longer have the room I booked and offered a renovated double room on the top floor which I took. I arrived at 3pm and there was a line to check in and the process seemed to take extremely long despite having all three check-in desks operating.
The renovated room was definitely much nicer than their aging rooms, but the water pressure was very weak and the water was neither hot or cold.
There are a few good restaurants and cafés within a 5 minute walk which were a plus."

Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica
8/10 Good
"Good family place. I wish there were more shaded areas close to the pools. The stone used around the pools must be replaced; they were a huge hazard to fall when wet and burn your feet really bad; we saw a few people falling. The room was OK; nothing special but are in need of upgrades & basic maintenance. Our bathtub for instance did not hold water.
The staff is great and the nature around you beautiful.
All-in-all a great place but compared to the Ritz-Carlton around the corner the Four Seasons is no longer the best hotel in the area."

Hotel Riu Guanacaste - All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"The property is beautiful!! Check in was a challenge as they wanted us to use the Riu App which did not work for us. Finally we received physical key cards. Our room was also lovely. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss when it came to re-stocking towels. Sometimes we were only given two bath towels and we went without hand towels or facecloths. However in using the Riu app we were able to notify housekeeping and the next day the towel situation was resolved. The mini bar service is only restocked every other day. On day 3 of our stay, I saw the tiny notification in the bathroom that the water is non-potable. Yikes!! Given that the bathroom water is non-potable, we had to request additional water daily through the Riu App. The only restaurant on the property that takes reservations is the Steak House. We were able to reserve for 2 nights. The first night our reservation was at 7 pm. The servers were excellent but were definitely geared to get us in/out as quickly as possible. We asked for the menus but instead were directed to a qr code. The meal was rushed although we did our best to try and relax. However after dessert at about 8:15 we had a very stressed ‘hostess’ come to our table and ask if we’d had dessert. We said yes it was delicious. She said why are you still here? I said do you want us to leave? She said Yes!! So we did!!"

CC Beach Front Papagayo All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"We had such a great week at CC Beach Front, the staff was so welcoming and friendly. The food was amazing, I thought by just having a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner by the end of a week I would be tired of the choices but they do a great job of switching up the food every day. There were Italian, Mexican and Asian themed dinners when we were there. We stayed in a garden view room that was set back from the main buildings but a very short walk. If you'd like more privacy these are the rooms for you, the other rooms all face either the pools or the beach. Assess to the beach felt secure through their locked gate and the attendant was happy to move beach chairs out for you if wanted to lay on the beach. We saw a range of ages and groups, families, couples, etc, the atmosphere is really family friendly. We did the tasting menu in the other 'restaurant' our last night, which was also really delicious, you have to make reservations for that and it only happens specific nights of the week. Overall, we would definitely go back and stay in the future!"
