The biggest plus of this hotel is the location as you can literally fall out through a side door on level 1 on the bustling Nanjing East road. The view of the bund is outstanding and I love that about the hotel!
However, hotel is dated and badly needs a renovation. Worn out toilets, dusty corners in room, musky carpets. Our air conditioning broke one night and we had to change our room at 1.30 am. The beds were comfy and I enjoyed my sleep.
The service level was poor as I enjoyed much better services in Marriott in Shanghai. For example, the concierge literally told me curtly at me he could only leave my luggage outside the locked storage as he ran out of space. My Taobao parcels were left on a self-service shelf near the carpark filled with many many other parcels and I had to spent a good amount of time searching for my parcels (I had the experience in Marriott Shanghai where the parcels were sent to my room). The check in process was smooth but the staff was not attentive.
The breakfast was mediocre.
In summary, I won’t stay here again unless a major renovation takes place.
