Good location near to Shanghai City... Room very small .. not so many space to move.
You should have a specific reason for staying here
Having stayed at this place for weeks at a time on [8] occasions in the past decade, I'm probably uniquely positioned to write a review and feel somewhat obliged to do so as a public service matter. The factor precipitating this review was the hotel's inability in March 18 to find any vacant hotel room where the heat worked (we gave up after trying three rooms). On top of that, the electricity in my subwing of the hotel kept going out (maybe because my neighbors were running their personal space heaters?) and my hot water went out (maybe because I was running it to try to warm my room?).
The variability in reviews may be attributable to differences in room quality. The cheapest rooms can be in such a state of disrepair that it's difficult to believe that whatever entity in Shanghai regulates hotels is allowing this, while the larger suites can be fairly decent for the price. See my photos for an illustration of what a bad room looks like (from a stay a couple years ago). Your experience will also depend on who your neighbors are. If you're lucky, you won't have any. If you're unlucky, they might yell all night, smoke, cook fish in their suite and leave garbage in the hall. Also, wifi is lobby-only
I don't understand why you would stay here if you didn't have a need to be in exactly this location (as I do). The location is OK convenience-wise, but not great. If you're willing to pay marginally more and are "convenient" location-agnostic, there are far better options.

Stay for 3 nights in this hotel. Booked for 2 rooms ( I double room & 2 twin room) , non smoking. We’ve been given 2 twin rooms and smoking rooms. Both rooms have a really strong cigarette smell. We’ve opened the window all nights and the smell doesn’t go away for the whole 3 nights. We’ve asked for the freshener to get rid the smell, but they never come back to us. The rooms old, the wallpaper peels off, old furniture, broken sink.
Location: Noisy in the morning because the wholesale fabric market just next from the hotel , but close to 2 subway line stations
I knew that booking a hotel in China wouldn’t have the same standards as in the US, so I only searched for 4 star and 5 star hotels. The online photos are deceiving, we arrived on 11/9/17 not sure if the hotel facade was the right place (since it looked like a high rise with exposed windows that looked broken into). So we went inside and checked in, indeed it was unfortunately the right place. The lobby was small, the couches looked so used and the whole place wreaked of cigarette smoke. There are two sides of the hotel - A and B. We were assigned to room A416, a two twin bed room. The elevators are extremely slow and small.
After we got off the elevator into this non existent hallway, rather more of a cramped space to put entrance doors on, we entered our room. Naturally we had to put the key into the wall insert in order for the AC to function. Our first glances were at how the wallpaper was peeling off, the stains on the headboard, and how cramped the space was. The room was no more than 150 sq ft. It fit two twin beds and a bathroom, with minimal walk/carpet room. The bathroom had a tub and a stand up shower, which leaked water everywhere because the door doesn’t close properly.
In summary, the only thing good about this place was the price. If I would’ve known the condition of this place (which makes a motel 6 seem like a castle), I would’ve paid more for a better quality hotel. This hotel should belong down with the two star hotels, if that.
