I loved my stay at Jiangnan house! It was beautifully designed, located at the heart of Nantou, with endless choices of restaurants, cafes and shops right at the door step. It even had a lovely café on the ground level serving specialty coffees. Staff were very friendly too. I highly recommend.

It’s not your typical hotel experience. Jiangnan House is located in the heart of the Nantou Ancient City, so you experience this contrast of the new and old. The hotel itself is completely open, no indoor corridors, you can see through the whole hotel from top to bottom of each floors. The design is beautiful, it’s very detail oriented and chique. It filled with Taschen books, even in the toilet area. Staff are super helpful and friendly. They even contacted me in advance offering to guide me from the edge of the city wall to the hotel in case I can find it. Do note that no cars or taxi can to the hotel since it’s within the walled city. So you’ll need to walk a little to get there. If you have a lot luggage’s, do let the hotel know. I’m sure they will send help. They even added me on WeChat to make sure I get there safely, and if I have anything I need throughout the day and night, they reply straight away. The design is the hotel is enough of a reason to stay there.
