"The staff was very helpful. It was a stormy afternoon when we arrived. The hotel is right by the Shirahama beach( 2 minutes’ walk). Our room was on the top floor with ocean view, and we could see the sunrise and watch the surfers catching the waves. There is a 7-Eleven and Family Mart nearby. The room was very spacious. If you booked a Japanese-style room, you have to make your futon bed yourself. The futon was very comfortable !!! I didn’t get a chance to use the onsen as I have a tattoo, but it looks busy, very busy, especially at night. Overall, we had a great time staying at Hotel Izukyu. It was spacious, and the views from our room were amazing! I will definitely stay here again."

"One of the most incredible stays of my life. The resort is beautiful with lots of onsens. The staff were very sweet and professional. They were very accommodating to upgrade my room for my honeymoon. The breakfast and dinner is soooo delicious. Highly recommend"

"This was a beautiful quiet hotel. While it is obvious thta it already has its years, it is very well maintained and has a beautiful onsen looking out to the sea. The restaurant offers a good varieties of food, and the staff was helpful and nice. The beach is great and the whole pool area is where you can spend most hours! Great hotel in Shimoda"

"Breakfast and dinner was great quality and lots of selection. Room was of good size and a nice balcony facing the sea. Staff were friendly and helpful in explaining the timing of the meals and shuttle service."

"I really enjoyed my stay at Saint Raphael Villa. I’m a single traveler and the room was just perfect for me and had ever I needed. The room was really cute and cozy and I felt very comfortable there. I also appreciated the access to the kitchen to prepare meals and clean up my dishes. The location is very convenient, less than 10 minutes walk from the bus stop and the beach. There is a beautiful shrine about 10-15 minutes walk from the villa. The neighborhood is calm, safe and quiet."
