Overnight stay.

Stayed for one night. Grest access to lake. Staff very friendly and professional. Most of the resort needs some TLC. Kinda pricey for the room, but understand its the price to pay for access to the lake.

We had an okay stay overall. The beach and pools were the highlights of our trip, and we enjoyed spending time there. If you’re planning to swim at the beach, I’d recommend bringing a float or other flotation device—it definitely made the experience more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the room itself was disappointing. It was small, had a musty smell, and the bathroom had a strong foul odor throughout our stay. We also noticed several housekeeping issues, including hair left in the shower and dried contact lenses on top of the headboard, which made us question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. The bedding and towels were in poor condition. The sheets and pillowcases were stained, the pillows were hard and lumpy, and the towels were thin and stained. We were uncomfortable enough that we ended up purchasing our own sheets, bedspreads, and pillows to use for the remainder of our stay. Additionally, the window latch was broken, which should be repaired for guest safety and comfort. The property has a great location with easy beach access and enjoyable pools, but the condition and cleanliness of the rooms need significant improvement. Better housekeeping, updated linens, and routine maintenance would make a big difference.

The A/C in our room kept shutting off. The pillows on our beds were pretty flat. Indoor pool wasn't too bad. The hot tub had peeling paint. Entire resort is kind of run down.

This resort needs capital investment and better marketing. I really hope this resort survives because it is one of a very few big resorts left in the area, but it does have the feeling of a business in a spiral. Everywhere I looked, I could see how this place must have been vibrant and full of life with the convention center, gift shop, diner, bar and grill, large number of rooms, multiple pools, etc. Now most of these areas are either closed or in disrepair. Very sad. For the size of the resort, it is much too big for the current number of guests there. I just hope it gets remodeled vs sold to developers.

What I liked: - staff was courteous and friendly - boathouse bakery had nice breakfast at reasonable cost What I didn't like: - Weird power outlet wiring in room - single light switch controlled power to all outlets except the bathroom so in order to charge devices overnight we had to unscrew lightbulbs. No information available about this. - Wifi only available in the lobby.

The room was dirty. Cheese popcorn on the floor next to the bed. A used washcloth on the floor in the bathroom in between the tub & the toilet. Black marks on the sheets (like from a suitcase)? The restaurant/bar was closed until further notice. However, the staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.

Clean but stale cigarette smell.

If you loved the 80’s you will love the decore. It is clean, I checked for bugs and none were found. I can get passed the dated decore but the smell of old stale cigarette smoke bothered my allergies horribly. My bathroom vent fan also didn’t have a function light so I did my hair and makeup by sink light for the wedding I was attending. Also no wifi in my room to finish up and check in work stuff. Overall very clean and quiet but the smell was too much for my allergies, it was also a no smoking room. The main lobby had the same smell.

Has three separate pools and a beach. Beach was nice but as a whole basically everything else on property is outdated or doesn’t work and staff shows a serious lack of effort or care for the guests. To the point of the owner actually approached us and at least one other couple, that I know of throwing a fit and a temper tantrum about parking while yelling and swearing at us while I had my daughter with me and was trying to back into a spot to unload items. Rooms were musty and had not been cleaned as there were crumbs everywhere. The bedding had multiple visual stains. Called front desk at 9:00 am to get clean towels and at 9:00 pm still had not received any even after offering to come get them. Finally a staff member after groaning about it brought three towels and said he was sorry that they were short staffed. I could go on, but I will just say that for almost $300.00/ night I would look elsewhere…!

When we got there, the shower curtain was full of mold, later on we discovered ants, later on we discovered other bugs, the linens were dirty. We thought we were getting at least a patio sit out on and we got nothing just a window to look out. We discovered later that you have to go through the lobby in order to get to the Little private Beach area, etc.

This property is very run down and dirty. Many things are outdated or broken. Needs lots of maintenance. Pools were dirty. The beach was full of weeds. Only saw 2 staff the whole time. Never saw anything being cleaned or maintained. I could go on and on. Will never stay here again!
