"Ok, this is not a shiny modern hotel, so if that’s what you’re looking for this may not be for you. Having said that, it is what makes this place so full of character, and special! The front balcony of our suite was the perfect place to have a drink and soak in St Andrew’s. This inn is in the heart of it all! An excellent view of the downtown and the pier. The music at the pub downstairs was great and finished at an early hour, so a relaxing dinner( that was also delicious) was had. The staff were super, and we didn’t want to leave…. Need I say more!"

"We booked a suite, which was very reasonably priced. It had a very comfortable king size bed and next to the bed to our surprise was a nice deep jacuzzi big enough for two!! Wow, it was so relaxing after a long day! There was a kitchenette, eating area with the table set beautifully for two people. A plush couch and tv topped off the room. A continental breakfast, comfort, cleanliness , exceptional customer service and a great location!! We will definitely stay at the Granite hotel again. We found a nice walking trail right across the street from the hotel which is lovely. We ate in Black’s Harbour at The Kitchen which was superb!! Down home good and excellent customer service. The chef came to our table to chat and to ensure our meal was enjoyable. The steak was cooked perfectly, the baked beans were homemade with molasses and the sandwiches were mouth watering. A variety of burgers, sandwiches, main dishes- from rosemary pork chops to lasagna to breaded haddock was offered. I had the Ham and Havarti sandwich on sourdough bread and it was grilled till the cheese melted into the bread and the generous portion of ham was so tasty- suffice to say I didn’t leave a crumb! The fries are homemade and the cheesecake heavenly 😊"

"The staff is extremely helpful, pleasant and polite. The inn and its grounds are immaculately maintained. The breakfast served at the time of your choosing was delicious and what a treat to savor it on the private patio with the birds singing and the lovely manicured grounds to enjoy. The inn is next door to the Kingsbrae Gardens and there is a gate to enter just to the right of the front door. I enjoyed the well appointed room, the whirlpool tub and the beautiful library and living room areas. Sherry and tea or coffee are served in the library at 4PM. It’s like a dream of stepping back in time to a slower more genteel era. Just lovely."
