"This is my second time staying at Fujisan Onsen Hotel Kaneyamaen, and once again, it has been nothing short of amazing!
From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Even during check-in, the staff personally escorted us to our room while taking the time to introduce the hotel and share about its many facilities.
There was simply so much to enjoy throughout our stay. We started with a lovely welcome tea overlooking a tranquil stream flowing through a forested area. The hotel also has a huge, beautifully landscaped Japanese garden where you can take your time to stroll and immerse yourself in the peaceful surroundings.
In the afternoon, we were treated to a lovely violin performance while enjoying hot tea and sweet potatoes, once again overlooking the beautiful stream. We also had the chance to soak our feet in the garden's foot onsen, which was such a relaxing experience.
Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Dinner was served in an enclosed private dining room, giving us plenty of privacy to enjoy our meal.
Another highlight was the lounge overlooking Mount Fuji, where there was an impressive complimentary selection of wine, drinks, snacks and even ice cream!
Guests can also dress up in beautiful kimonos, adding a little something special to the whole Japanese experience.
Every evening, the hotel puts on traditional drum performances followed by bingo, with attractive prizes for lucky winners. It was such a fun way to end the day!"
"The hotel setting is absolutely beautiful, the staff extra lovely and helpful, the breakfast and dinner included were fabulous . I chose a room without the lake view and would upgrade next time but pure was still lovely . The onsen was relaxing and cocktails overlooking the footpath great. It was a wonderful adventure from Tokyo to Hakone on the Romancecar train then the switchback train and cable cars to the hotel and good that a direct bus can take you back if time is short . The Hakone free pass is well worth it and includes the Pirate ship cruise , such fun. I would also recommend the amazing luggage delivery service . We had bigger bags sent from Tokyo to our next stop after Hakone being Kyoto, such an efficient system , so travelled light to Hakone but even so , we forwarded our bags from Hakone station to the hotel for a small fee, freeing us up for the journey there and allowing us to enjoy the Open Air Museum hands free . That place is well worth the visit . So lovely . All in all a memorable stay highly recommended ."
"Beautiful suite with lake view. Robes provided for onsen. Japanese style breakfast at our own table with hot pot and many courses. Convenient to rental bikes and restaurants. I highly recommend it."
