"This hotel was lovely. Situated on a cliffside with access to a part sand/part rocky beach, it provided a lovely oasis. There was plenty of greenspace to relax and watch the sunset. The pool was refreshing, but often crowded. The restaurant had amazing food, particularly for vegetarians. And prices were very good. The service was a little slow and not clearly organized, but the staff were all kind and helpful when asked. We stayed in a family room which was clean and comfortable, but did not have a balcony. If the opportunity arose, we would happily return to Bambuda Santa Catalina."
"It’s a well curated place with 6 bungalow’s and a nice pool, overall done with care and good taste However it’s overpriced for what you get especially considering that it is located in a very rough and poorly maintained area with abandoned constructions projects , junks and hazards around the property, access to the tiny beach require going through concrete waist and rusted metals, to be fair it’s pretty much all over Santa Catalina not just this property. The other reason I think is overpriced is the property do not provide any service such as basic cleaning during your stay any food, drinks simply the small habitation and a shared pool. "
"I spent a week at Surfasana Lodge. It is a unique property on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Surfasana Lodge is very peaceful surrounded by nature. Mauricio is a chill guy that can answer all your questions about Santa Catalina in general or surfing in particular. He is very interesting to talk with. I thoroughly enjoyed my week at Surfasana. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. If you come to Santa Catalina for surfing or diving, I highly recommend Surfasana Lodge for your accomodations. "
"This property could use some love! We arrived to a grade 10 drive up a steep steep hill or option 2 - a steep climb up 120 stairs (not a misprint) with no sign indicating you were actually heading to reception. Once checked in we had to go down the 120 stairs to our car. A very kind receptionist gentleman drove down the hill to help us get our luggage up to our room. So only a 30 stair climb from this point! Needless to say you will get a workout. The room was nice. There was air conditioning which was necessary as it is the hot season here AND we were hot after the climb. We were able to get our car part way up the “driveway”. Most clients did not chance it! All this and we do enjoy our stay in Santa Catalina. We do recommend Panama Dive Center for scuba diving!"
"Stayed at Villa Coco in Santa Catalina with a group of five of us in a suite and had an incredible experience. The property itself is beautiful — the grounds are peaceful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and everything feels really well cared for. The staff were outstanding from start to finish: friendly, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming. The food was excellent, and being able to borrow bikes to explore the area was such a great touch.
The location is also ideal — nicely tucked away so it feels calm and private, yet still perfectly situated between both ends of town so everything is easy to get to.
Overall, this place is amazing and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Santa Catalina."
"I first wanna say there was a nice welcome gift, a bottle of champagne and two chill bottles of water and the bed was comfortable.
No towel, only a bathmat, no Wi-Fi, although it was advertised, AAA batteries, and only one remote device, so I had to keep switching them until I went and bought another set and brought them home with me. Bugs crawling all over the floor. No soap in the bathroom. And it wasn’t until this morning when I moved the welcome note and found the business card with the contact for the owner. I tried to send a message through orbit, but I never received a response. It has great potential, but needs a lot of work. "
