A nice place to stay for an authentic experience. The host is very responsive to any questions you’ll have. If hiking be aware the house is about 2km from the trail and you have to descend the amount you climbed to get back to the road- hike back up approx 45 minutes. Be sure to set up food/transportation if you need them 2 weeks in advance.

So much welcoming!!

We as a couple, so much enjoyed our stay at Guest House Kumano Yasai. The owner was kind and knows local well. The guest house welcomes one group per day, so you can make your stay special there with your loved ones. I guess the owner( Japanese) speaks English fluently, so you don’t need to worry about language! Meals were also amazing! Her bentos made us happy and got more energy to attack Komanokodo next day! We definitely go back to Guest House Kumanokodo again!

バス停からすぐの寛げる宿

熊野古道を滝尻から牛馬童子口まで歩いた後、バスで宿に伺いました。バス停からすぐです。建物の見た目は古いですが中は快適です。家庭用にしては大きめのお風呂でのんびり歩いた疲れをとる事が出来ました。 スーパーまで徒歩20分との事で暗い中歩いていくのはおすすめ出来ないかもしれません。私たちは、夕食は牛馬童子口道の駅で買ってきた鹿肉コロッケやアユのひつまぶしを食べましたが、朝は用意していただきました。昼食として準備していただいたお弁当もとても美味しかったです。

熊野古道からは少し歩きます。スーパーは徒歩20分なので栗栖川側からトレイルを降りてきたら先にスーパーに寄っておいた方が吉です。部屋はいわゆる古民家ですが、隅々までオーナーさんの気配りが行き届いており、とても快適でした。また来たいです。
