Sinkhole Oman
Not if but WHEN you go to Oman be sure to include the Bimmah sinkhole on your itinerary. This was the best swim of my life and I especially loved all the fishies nibbling my toes in the shallows, people pay money for that! Lol. Super deep, clear, blue and clean it's gorgeous!
Amazing sinkohole with fresh and salt water. Good place for swiming and rest during traveling around north coast of Oman
One of the nature spots in Oman - amazing BImmah sinkhole. Just 1.5 hours driving from Muscat and so worth a trip!

Bimmah Sinkhole is clearly marked on any decent map of Oman, clearly signposted off the highway & thereafter and you do not require a 4WD to get to it. That being said, every time I go there, I think I have missed the turn and take a dirt track that you should not take in a normal car, only to realise that if I had stayed on the tarmac, the turnoff was just a bit further up the road! It takes about an hour from Muscat.

There are pan toilets here which double as changing areas. There are a few picnic spots as well.

To get to the water, you have to go down a lot of steps! The water is mildly salty and very clear. The shallows have those tiny fish that eat the dead skin off your feet and legs (free foot spa) and the deeper area is deep enough for jumping off the rocks into the Sinkhole - which plenty of people do. There are a variety of heights to jump from!

This is one of the first places I visited in Oman many moons ago and it is still a favourite. The surrounding scenery does not disappoint either as it is perched between the mountains and the sea.
