The staff was so nice and accommodating. The location was beautiful and the amenities were great. Only thing we would have liked would have been a café open on location. Other than that, it was perfect!

Lovely, quiet location with pleasant staff and great activities. Some quirks with toilets and tvs that are to be expected in an older property but issues were addressed quickly. Would definitely stay again.

Property is well maintained and clean. The rooms are small but adequate. Our only fault was the restaurant pricing. Dishes are at least 25 to 40 percent upvharged. For example, a bowl of gazpacho was priced at $18 . If crab eas added it would have been $15 more for a grand total of $33 for a bowl of soup. Outrageous. I’ve been to 5 star restaurants and never paid that much for a bowl of soup. The chicken entree was $30 and the chicken consisted of 2 small chicken finger type pieces. No full breast or thigh/leg. Drinks definitely upcheged. Drive a bit down the road and eat at Chesapeake seafood or drive into town. If you don’t feel comfortable driving at night, go in and have a late lunch or get takeout.

We are experienced travelers so expect certain information and common amenities at check-in or in the room. The following were NOT provided and/or were issues for us ... 1. Guest's WIFI Password was not provided at Reception or on a card in the room. 2. Two remotes were required to operate the TV with no instructions for how to use them. 3. There were no Ice Machines for Guests' use. 4. The Bathtub was quite old and slippery but no bath mat was provided. 5. The bath/shower mixing valve was very old, corroded and hard to turn ON/OFF. 6. The filter in the air conditioner was very dirty. 7. No hairdryer was provided in the room. 8. Before our arrival, the room was sprayed with a strong perfume that took the better part of a day to dissipate. 9. No telephone in the room to call the front desk or restaurant. 10. There aren't enough Chez Lounges around the pool. On the other hand, the following were plusses ... 1. The property and amenities offered are excellent. 2. The views of the Chesapeake are beautiful. 3. The grounds are well maintained with lots of varied seating options. 4. The help, wait staff and others were friendly, well-trained and helpful. 5. The food in the restaurant and drinks served from the bar were of good quality and not overpriced. I'm pleased to speak with the Manager about any of the foregoing if he/she wishes. F. J. This is our second stay and it was as wonderful as the first. Quiet and private. Pool was great and the views were beautiful. Kayaking, SUP and Fishing, they also had bikes available.Fire pits at night and Ticklers a good place to eat and drink! Very enjoyable, we will be back again and again!

Mini vacay

Came for a one night mini vacay and it didn’t disappoint even though it rained. Everyone was friendly! So many amenities to make use of! Loved the sauna, restaurant right out our front door. Had a view of the water which we didn’t expect! Was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.

Lovely Stay

We had a wonderful stay. A few things I would mention, if you have difficulty with stairs make sure to tell the person taking your reservations. Hopefully they will have a first-floor unit available. The building is very old, and the steps are very steep. The building has been nicely updated and is very well maintained and very, very clean. The views and the amenities are really great.

Couples Chesapeake getaway

Great, very inclusive facility. Quiet evening, pool, and hot sauna was a fun distraction. Dinner at Ticklers Crab Shack was so good! the crab & veggie soup was fantastic.The morning coffee and offerings was good as well.

Great 4th of July weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend at Wylder. The food and view was great. Enjoyed blue crabs. The room is not big but we didn't spend much time in the room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when needed.

Lovely Getaway

We had a lovely bungalow on the Chesapeake with beautiful views of the surrounding area. The staff was welcoming and helpful and he amenities were good with lots of yard games and a pretty heated pool. The sauna was an unexpected and appreciated treat. Due to the time of year, the restaurant was not open on one of the nights of our stay. Bedding was very comfortable but I do wish that, if hotels are going to give you four pillows, that they be of difference weights and thicknesses!
