Perfect location to enjoy Valetta and to use as a base to explore other parts of Malta, including just a 10-15 minute walk to the ferry point we used to go to Gozo.
The room was very clean and a comfortable bed. I would highlight the hotel proprieter Mark for his welcome and incredible local knowledge and willingness to make time for us in his busy schedle to help us make some local plans as it was our first visit to Malta. He even contacted a trusted Gozo based taxi and tour guide who met us upon our arrival at the island.
There is a wealth of nearby restaurants caterering for all tastes, including some roof top eating places with great views. Some people have left reviews relating to the late night noise, but honestly with the window shut and AC on, we didn't notice a thing and for me it just added to the friendly vibe and buzz that is Valetta.
A final shout out to Jason who is the local taxi and tour guide who sorted the airport run and spent a day with and was really friendly and crammed a lot in for us so that we didn't miss anything.
Central Valletta location. Staff were always courteous and helpful. Room small but fresh. It is noisy in the surrounding streets so if you’re a light sleeper it may not be the hotel for you (although they do supply ear plugs!).
Overall, exceeded expectations. It’s perfect for both short and longer stays in Malta, offering the comfort of a luxury with the convenience of being in the city center. Highly recommended!
Lovely hotel with a small amount of rooms, maybe around 20. Staff were very friendly to us and helpful with recommendations for bars/restaurants and tours.
The staff were nice and the hotel is beautiful but overall this is overpriced
The main issue for us was the noise in our room coming from adjacent bars. There is not much to the hotel apart from a breakfast room, and the hero picture is misleading as it is a private terrace which is not accessible to most rooms
We later stayed in a nicer, cheaper hotel very close
Lovely, clean, classy boutique style hotel within a historical building. All of the staff were fantastic and made our stay feel as though we were staying with good friends. The owner has a wealth of knowledge about Malta and the best attractions to see as well as suggestions of the best restaurants at reasonable prices. The hotel is also perfectly situated for exploring Valletta on foot. The owner and all of the staff worked hard to ensure that our stay was a memorable experience and we were made to feel valued and special.
We stayed at The Barrister Hotel in Valletta to celebrate the New Year and had a wonderful time. The hotel location is excellent, in the centre of the city, and close to the main tourist attractions, bars, restaurants, buses and ferries.
All the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed, including a good sized walk-in shower. There was some noise from the local bars, due to being so central, but keeping the windows closed kept most of the noise out. Earplugs were provided but not needed.
The continental breakfast was fresh with a good variety to choose from and staff were very attentive, offering a range of hot and cold drinks.
We would recommend the Barrister to anyone wanting a boutique experience in the heart of Valletta.
Outstanding in every way! The room was very well appointed, bed was comfortable, and service was spot-on! Breakfast was fresh and tasty. The manager was like a casual concierge, providing ideas and information to make our trip even better. I give the Barrister 11 out of 10!
We had to book at last minute due to changes in our flight. The staff was so kind, very helpful. The hotel it is so nice, clean and well decorated. It is close (walking distance) to main attractions. Good restaurants and bars are nearby. Great experience
Location is excellent in the heart of Valetta, but not so close to all the noise. The staff are especially welcoming and helpful with advice about local places to visit, for dining and otherwise. Highly recommended. And thanks Mark for all your help!
