Beautiful hotel with a historical feel. The room and service were also lovely. Excellent breakfast spread although it may pose problems for gluten free types. I highly recommend it as an interesting alternative to other 4 and 5 star hotels.

Beautiful hotel

This is my second stay at this hotel and I continue to love the quality of the service and rooms. I selected a larger room and it was so nice to hang out in. The location of the hotel is perfect - right off Camino trail. The breakfast very good and had lots to offer.

The electricity was not working in the first room. We were upgraded to a bigger room but here the air conditioning was ineffective. It was at the time of year (mid-April) when the system needed changing from heating to cooling. This change had not yet been effected. The staff were helpful and offered us an electric fan. The curtains were hung badly - not what you expect in a 4* hotel. However, overall we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful historic property centrally located. Squeaky floorboards added to the vibe. Receptionist was very helpful. Breakfast buffet was good and there was a beer tap room next door. Pool looked lovely though the cool wind stopped us from taking a dip.

Room was very warm. Air conditioning did not work. We tried for a long time. Lady at desk pretended to help us with it from where she sat. She said it can be tricky. Never worked. Had to open the windows at night to let the air come through. Beds were very hard. The premises were beautiful. Neat history. Breakfast was great.

We did the Camino and this was a lively place to stay and relax. The rooms were spacious, the bathrooms were well equipped, and the breakfast was lovely. Highly recommend as a stop on your Camino adventure - or solely if you’re staying for a vacation.

The old part of the hotel looks fine. We booked a classic double room and ended up with the room in the new part, which was not nice at all. The quality of the room does not correspond to the level of 4 star hotel. The design is made without love, cheap materials and cheap technik. It was a disappointment. The breakfast is really bad quality, again not the level of the 4 star hotel. They offer cheap ham and cheese from the nearby supermarket and do not bother to offer any fresh vegetables or local produce. Really a shame. We stayed in many cheaper bed and breakfasts in Portugal which offered much much better quality of service and food. This hotel was a disappointment and I would not recommend it to anyone.
