The Maki property was a hostel. My hotel option that I made 3 months before this date was cancelled last minute by the hotel Agorra in Viñ Del Mar. that room was paid for in advance. With less than 24 hours
Notice Agorra cancelled leaving us stranded without a place in Chile. Expedia allowed us to change to the Hostel Maki. First it was a hostel. No longer my scene. We did have a private bathroom but the shower didn’t drain. So you stood in4-6 cm of water with each shower. The toilet seat was broken. There were holes in the wooden floor in the room. I would have never a hostel but was left with no choice after the Hotel Agorra cancelled us without any explanation and with less than 24 hours. Viña is a popular destination for NYE. The cost at the hostel Maki was over $200 US a night because of the timing. It was definitely not worth that. The staff was nice and the location convenient for Valparaiso. But we were trying to stay in Viña Del Mar. My review is to never stay at the Hotel Agorra. They are not an honorable business to take your $ and cancel last minute. The Maki is a hostel. That’s probably not the choice of anyone over 40 who is used to some level of personal comfort.
