The older lady at check in, she was training a very nice young man. She did not greet me, she wouldn't smile and she is rude. She told another guest no pets and turned him away. I later saw numerous pets with guests. When she advised there is $150 charge for incidentals, I questioned this and she implied this was for smoking and room damage. I was surprised by this charge in that extreme amount. We will not be staying there again. And the free breakfast is sparse you can do better.

When we checked into our room, it smelled like a pet was living in there. They do allow for pets in the hotel after notifying the front desk. They quickly changes us to a new room, which I was grateful for which was fine!! The air condition unit was very noisy throughout the night.

The hotel was very clean and safe. There was some trouble with a guest upstairs with children who were stomping around and jumping, but that eventually settled down. I did ask for a pet-friendly room and when I got there was told there were no more even though my reservation was accepted. They then proceeded to charge me an “extra” amount as a pet cleaning fee for that room. I felt that they should have made that known upfront, but the room was nice and the area safe. I would stay there again

I was very pleased with my stay at Microtel in Walterboro. The area and hotel felt safe, especially as I walked the dog in the evening. Hotel and room were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here on my next trip.

The one Queen bedroom unit is way too small for the price. 300 sf stated, in reality under 200. If you want to sleep, better turn off the heater/airconditioning unit. Skimpy breakfast. Bad lighting, with that beer fridge feeling.Overeall not horrible, but overpriced for what it is. Used to be better, as we book this place twice a year.

The staff wasn’t super friendly. The morning person seemed very overwhelmed while restocking breakfast supplies. Walls seemed very thin. Overall it was a good place to rest our heads for the night though.

Nice well lit safe patking lot. Great Breakfast. Nice large room. Great friendly service. Perfect stop overnight for traversing the east coast 95 on the way to Florida with the family.

Our toilet was stopped up with only tissue and no solid waste, causing me to have to get a plunger from the clerk to open the drain, the bath drain was slow and we had to stand in water during the shower, and I nearly fell when I grabbed a loose safety grab bar. Not happy!

I thought the price was higher than we had spent in Clear Springs, MD with a better dog friendly room. The towels were softer, a window seat and a breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuits, oatmeal etc. A complete breakfast. This was a Holiday Inn Express.

Some good, some bad
The hotel had three problems which could be rectified: 1. The toilet was VERY SHORT and difficult to get on and off. 2. The pillows were like rocks. 3. The shower had very low water pressure. Check in and checkout was pleasant. The pet walking area was large. The hotel was easy off and on I-95.

It is an older hotel, the room heater was loud , breakfast is very simple. The rooms seemed clean, but overall it was pricey for what it offered.

The room/hotel was ok, not great but not awful either. I gave it low stars because they apparently ran out of pet friendly room's and charged us a higher pet fee. Instead of $40 ($20 per dog) I got charged $67.20. I wasn’t told ahead of time about this. Had I know it would that much I would have stayed at a nicer hotel for the same price.
