"Lovely Staff and potential is all im going to say but unfortunately was a bit disappointed actually and I dont like to writ bad reviews but was really unimpressed with the cost. Firstly arrived staff very nice gave room key, room turns out to be the furthest as possible away from reception. Not a problem just an interesting observation. Fan in the room no use at all makes a noise and nothing else to maintenence hasn't really checked. Came back to use the pool facilities was told its full- totally understandable i get it needs a limit. However we had already signed the form to check in this wasn't noted and was told cant use the pool due to a football team. Again could just be bad luck but being told cant use something included in the price and being pushed to the side do to a booking spending more money not the best. Was told we could wait but not waiting around on holiday when they was another group of football kids waiting to go in. So basically missed out. Pillows really uncomfortable in my opinion and I stay in alot of hotels for work and for the cost very not up to standard. Fast forward to breakfast, about 5 tables in arrived at 10 am having to had to use the pool that morning as couldn't do say night before. No food left hardly and hot food pasty cereal and was told chefs making some up, to be left waiting another 10 15 min. Was given pancakes asked for no syrup and banana, repeatedly ended up still being served pancakes with those items so poor in that case"

"Check in very slow checked in on line so no hassle but you try find room 422 out of 2-3 big buildings without cueing up to ask which took half hour as very slow at reception Don’t glasses in room or fridge as I’m guessing they want you to drink at the bar and at there prices can see why one rum and coke and a wine £18.18 was not told the swimming pool and spa was not included in room price £117 fir one night so that was another £24 for a few hours fir two of us As you walk in restaurant there’s a sign saying egg on toast or porage pancakes lighter breakfast is £5 so walked over to ask for this and was told no don’t do this £33 fur a full English or nothing Everything you did seemed like they were trying to take as much money as possible with out really doing a lot my view any way lovely buildings and surroundings pond out the front is nice would nit stop again unfortunately "

"This is a well located hotel close to shops and eateries and the theatre is walkable. The staff were friendly and the room was clean with good amenities. The bar has a good selection of drinks and spirits and has a nice atmosphere with wooden beams and panelling. Well worth a visit."

"The hotel itself is lovely, however the primary purpose of staying in a hotel Is for relaxing. Unfortunately on both nights we had disturbed sleep. The first night an unruly guest set of the fire alarm twice. On the second night there was a function in the ballroom And so the the noise of the music travelled up to the third floor and it was difficult to get to sleep As a result. As the first incident of human related it couldn’t really be helped. But functions must be a norm In a hotel of this size and so this is probably an issue that needs to be considered."

"Lovely hotel, sympathetically restored.Experience let down by thick polyester duvet and cover, unpleasant and difficult to sleep in hot weather. For this reason would not stay again."

"Can’t recommend this place highly enough! Extremely clean rooms, bathrooms, the staff are so friendly and they can’t do enough for you. The breakfast is one of the best we’ve had in any English hotel and we stay in many! No problem parking, either in the forecourt or on the road. We highly recommend this hotel."

"Room clean Staff very helpful but was really understaffed Waited to long for a table in a very empty restaurant My wife has been quite ill since we left and possibly food poisoning but unsure if it was to do with the hotel"
