Clean room - very small but no issue for solo travel. Codes to access front door & room seems odd at first. No idea what would happen if there was an issue b/c no staff on duty at night. Actually- staff usually not there.

Shower handle came right off when i turned it on and shower head was not securely fixed to the wall! otherwise not a bad place to stay in dc it gets the job done. minimal amenities but good location, it was quiet and comfortable enough. the room was just a but rough around the edges

The neighborhood felt very safe and there was good food choices nearby. The overall stay at the hotel was decent but room service and customer service was horrible via text. They encourage texting as the best way to communicate but I never got a response and had to call the phone # listed on the front door. Day 2 our room codes stopped working. Luckily Bryan on the phone line was very helpful in getting us new codes. Evening of Day 2 we ran out of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in our room. I messaged them (and room service was scheduled to come that next day) no response. When we returned to the room after room service came, we had new towels and a made bed but still empty soap containers. There was nothing available in their essentials cabinet and we had to go out and buy what we needed. I never got a response from the text I sent about running out & never got a response from the text I sent asking for some sort of refund for our inconveniences.

The property is not as advertised. My room smelt of damp and sweat. The window has no curtain so people outside can see into the room either side of the wooden shutters making it hard to get ready in private. The shower curtain sticks to you and slows water to get everywhere. The check in process is flawed for international travellers who cannot receive text messages. This was apparently how they sent instructions to check in but I never received these. The alarm also went off at 8am interrupting everyone’s sleep. The area is good and the one staff member I met was lovely and I was lucky he was there when I was trying to check in. The main hall light remained on throughout the evening meaning the room was hard to sleep in. All in all I wouldn’t return here and would suggest the hotel replaces the carpets and puts some curtains up for privacy and saves electricity but having sensory hall lights that turn off. As a solo traveller in town for work I did no feel safe in the accommodation I booked.

Be careful that this place has no regular staff on site. Check-in is handled virtually. There was some mixup in the process for me, and I never got their email that was supposed to send me check-in information. And there was no followup either. When I arrived late, nobody was there to help. The 24/7 text line never replied. And the manager didn’t answer his call. Really took some time and effort to get connected with someone and got in. The room had a toilet that had water keep running, AC remote running out of battery, tissue box running out of tissue. Heard that other people might have good experience. So thought it’s just risky. Hard to find help if you do need it.

I booked a standard queen room on Expedia and got a very small room with a double bed. Avoid room 206. I reached out to staff after first night with no response. They do not have 24/7 staff on site. Room was clean but in disrepair. I have stayed there before and it was fine. They reached out after the stay and they responded that they would look into the situation with a possible 1 night refund but did not respond again after multiple texts. It’s a shame because it is priced right in a great area, but a regrettable experience for us.

This is in a great location and in a great building, but is very run down. It seemed clean enough, but grimy i.e. stained, but vacuumed carpet; broken light switch in the bathroom, but clean shower; nice quality sheets, but too small for bed, kept popping off the mattress. Frayed chairs in lobby, nice place but has maybe seen better days.

This is not a hotel. It's a self-service, motel-style building. There is no on-site staff, and a contact number for someone at their Chicago location is posted on the front door. To enter the building, you need to remember a passcode. To access your room, you'll need another passcode. My sink had only a trickle of water, and I used the shower to wash my face or brush my teeth. My room looked like a dungeon and was below ground level, with a view of the stairs. It was freezing cold, with no central heat or air—just an old AC unit. The carpet was filthy, and the room had peeling paint. My room was next to a trash storage area. The hallway and walls were peeling, with holes and stains everywhere. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. On my first night, at 3 AM, the building alarm went off for 45 minutes. A few other unfortunate guests were in the hallway trying to disarm it since there is NO STAFF on premises. We called the number for the staff person working in Chicago, and he finally gave us the code so I could disarm the alarm. AVOID.
