"The hotel wasn't even accepting reservations and Expedia booked me there. And I also paid a $9 insurance fee. Thankfully, I did not pay for my reservation in advance. I received no confirmation from the hotel or Expedia. The night before my departure, I looked for a confirmation and found nothing. I tried to call the hotel and the call went immediately went to voicemail with no outgoing message. The next day, when I arrived in the town and drove by the place, there was a huge sign out front...

"I was thrilled with the location. Very short walk into town, and had plenty of parking. Checking in was a breeze by just using codes to the doors. My first impression walking into the building was that it smelled VERY clean. My room was spotless, bright and charming. I stayed in Room #8, and it was the perfect size for a single or a couple. The ONLY thing I wish it had was a blow dryer, but that is a VERY minor mark. 5 stars all around, and will stay here again!"

"I work hard and needed the perfect relaxing place. We booked a night while we were passing through town and it was exactly what we needed. The atmosphere was what you would expect from a Vermont establishment. The beer was great, the meatballs were literally amazing. At first I felt the price of the pizza was a bit high but after eating it I had zero regrets, worth it. Our room was above the bar and provided ear buds. We wouldn’t need them on this night because we may have been the only guests....

It would have been nice to enjoy a hot breakfast on the cold and gloomy morning that we were there, though. We enjoyed meeting our friendly host, Joe, and had a nice conversation with him as he explained the history of the property and some future kitchen renovations he has in the works. Parking was no problem - plenty of space, well-lit, felt absloutely...

"This truly a gem! One of two remaining historic hotels in Detroit, everything about this hotel was something special. The room was spacious and creatively decorated with a large selection of LP's in the hallway. This also included a record player. The queen size beds were extremely comfortable. The fact that this hotel was walking distance from a diverse restaurant and entertainment options. This was especially true for me, the Vegan. Mykayla was extremely friendly and resourceful. "The house was everything we wanted and more. Loaded with space, kitchen supplies, comfort, a grill, gorgeous stone fireplace. The location on. sleepy back road in the woods was beautiful and quiet. The only complaint is that they make you take your trash with you when you go. There was a pass for the local dump which helped offset the inconvenience. Otherwise, A+"

"This place is amazing very unique Viking style and themed. surrounded by woods and hiking trails. They also have a special brand of sheep heard on the property. they did an exceptional job building and maintaining this place."
