The Bygone Hotel

"What an absolute gem. We loved it. Secluded, comfortable, roomy, outstanding views, comfortable lounging all over the property, wonderful pool area. Check-in and out runs like an Airbnb. No staff on site, entry key codes emailed/texted the day of your arrival. Super simple. It would be helpful if key code for the den area was sent at the same time as the pool code. We would have loved to use that space for playing games and reading as there was only one chair and no table in the room. We would definitely stay again when we next come to Wimberley."

"This was a wonderful getaway place. Nestled way off the beaten path in the hills. It had a spa atmosphere with plenty of places to lounge around the property. It had lots of shady trees and chairs placed all over to sit and relax. It had a nice pool and jacuzzi and a spa center attached to it if you wanted to schedule a massage. The rooms were very nicely furnished and clean. The staff was superb. Eli, the property manager made sure our every wish was taken care of. Dinner there was also very good. It was a very relaxing place and perfect for a "GETAWAY" from the city. I highly recommend it and I'll be going back again."

"A Perfect Hill Country Getaway – We Can’t Wait to Return! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Prow’d House Bed & Breakfast by Dave & Donna Kyte in Wimberley. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and relaxed. The property is beautifully maintained, exceptionally clean, and surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the Texas Hill Country. It’s easy to see why this B&B has earned such a great reputation with so many guests. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. Every detail reflected the care and pride the owners take in the property. The quiet setting made it the perfect place to unwind. One of our favorite parts of the stay was spending time on the spacious deck. Whether enjoying the morning light, relaxing on the porch swing, or watching the sunset over the beautiful oak trees, flowering crepe myrtles, and Hill Country landscape, every moment felt peaceful and refreshing. The natural surroundings, birds, and wildlife made it a true escape from city life. The location is excellent—close enough to downtown Wimberley, wineries, Blue Hole, Jacob’s Well, and local restaurants, yet tucked away in a quiet setting that feels private and serene. It was the perfect base for exploring everything the area has to offer. Breakfast was delicious and a wonderful way to start each day. It’s clear that hospitality is a priority here, and the warm atmosphere made us feel right at home. This matches what many other guests have experienced as well."
