The hotel is right in front of the Yonago station with easy access to shops, restaurants, and public transportation. The room was very clean with a nice bed and a great special pillow. The coin-op laundry room was great for backpackers. I appreciate the hotel's conscious engagement with environment friendly services.
Typical Japan hotel size and have the necessary amentities. Convenient as it is located just opposite JR station and many izakayas around (but no English menu). Hotel is quite old looking (corridor, room, toilet) but ok for just a night stay. Staff are a klutz. The one that did check in notified me (in simple English) I had already check in, I said I just arrived though. No idea what happened, then the other staff that did my check out confused my left baggage with another guest's. Thankfully is just 1 night.
The laundry facilities ended up being expensive because the dryers were not very good. It took 4 cycles and my clothes were still damp.
The rooms were decent and clean.
This property may need updated decorating but it's literally across the street from the Yonago rail station and on the cusp of a lot of walkable shopping. I enjoyed it so much during my first trip that I'm staying again.
My single room (double bed) is very comfy for a solo shopaholic and would be good for a couple with a child. There's a nice amount of floor space, much more than other hotels in the area and even more than the hotel's photos suggest; you can literally use the area at the foot of the bed to stash purchases or suitcases, make a play area, etc.
For both visits, I've managed to get rooms facing the train station, and the sunrises have been gorgeous. You don't need to face Daisen directly, the hills and far-off mountains are a dramatic frame.
Before you decide on lodgings for yourself or your little family, see if a few extra dollars per night are in your budget for this property. I highly recommend it compared to the other budget hotels!
