"Leider war das Personal äußerst genervt von Rückfragen, oder bei dem Wunsch etwas zu bestellen. Eine der Bedienungen trug einen Mullverband an der Hand und servierte mit dieser Essen, sehr unhygienisch. Das Frühstücksbuffet war mehr als enttäuschend. Die Auswahl sehr gering und mit dem Nachfüllen kam der Service auch überhaupt nicht hinterher. Der Zimmerservice fand prinzipiell erst nach 15:00 Uhr statt, wenn überhaupt. "Charming hotel with a microbrewery and beergarden. Some aspects are a little dated, but everything is spotless and well maintained. Rooms have a pleasant country house feel. Situated a few km out of Trier, it's walkable to town (around 40 mins). Surrounded by steep green slopes of riesling vineyards it's a peaceful place to stay. We ate at the restaurant, where there was a nice buzz on a Friday evening. Vegetarian/vegan meals are available alongside hearty biergarten dishes as well as craft beer and wine from local producers. The hotel has a small indoor pool and a sauna, free to use for guests. We didn't this time round, but it looked good. Buffet breakfast was good as well. Staff are pleasant and spoke some English to make up for our limited German."

"We stayed here Aug 2025 to visit our cousins who live in the area. We booked through Expedia so we did not expect the best room (it seems like typically we get better rooms when booking through the hotel directly but a better rate booking through Expedia). Our room was on the first floor but was slightly above ground level. There is no AC and there were no fans. But there was a cute balcony with two seats. The room was clean. We checked-in quickly and were not offered any maps or instructions about the hotel (there is a pool but we were not told where it was although we also didn't have time to use it anyway). The location was perfect for us. We were able to walk around the lake (the Bostalsee) and drive to our cousins' houses. They do offer a few amenities although we were not told about these amenities when we checked -in (we were only told that the breakfast was $29 Euros PP if we wanted to add it.). Parking was free and easy, checkout was quick and easy and a little friendlier than check-in. We felt like this is mostly a local German vacation hotel and not as welcoming to non-German travelers. "
