Honestly , when we pulled up I was unsure because from the outside it wasn't that spectacular. In fact I was scared it might be a seedy motel . I was wrong . The inside was nice , it was clean it had recently been re decorated . Th sheets smelled clean . The room didn't smell like I was afraid it would . I was pleasantly surprised !! We were looking for a simple place to lay our heads while attending a wedding and didn't need a resort type accommodation. This served our purpose well .

I’ve had great experience here before. I did however found the room I got this time to be not as clean and squared away as well as it was before - eg the bed was made a bit messy and I found what I believe was blood on the bathroom floor. I also did have soon be trouble with my door not shutting and locking properly but they took care of it the best way they can relatively fast, which I’m very grateful for. I believe this is a local family run business and do like them a lot. Great place to stay at a reasonable price.

For the money, I cannot think of a better value! I’m traveling for a new job and needing a place relatively close to Aberdeen. Since I have had HORRIBLE experiences in Aberdeen, I decided to check this place out and I cannot recommend it enough. I was not sure if I had the right place at first as the big sign outside reads “Ocean Shore Resort” and doesn’t mention American Value Inn except for a decal on the door. So I thought I was at the wrong place for a few minutes. Perhaps since it’s the off season, I had to call the manager to check in but she came in within five minutes and checked me in quickly. The room is very clean and modern. Had all the necessities. It was so quiet though I was glad to see that they do provide ear plugs as well just in case. It’s a great little place and I’ll definitely be staying here if I come during the summer with my family.

If I could rate this a negative 5 I would. I arrived between check in hours , office was closed with a note that says call after hours number listed on paper. My husband and I called for 20-30 minutes straight. No answer, we texted the number and it kept saying the messages were being read but no one was responding or picking up the phone. We drove 4 hours booked the room in advance. We felt abandoned and misled. Thank goodness a nearby place had openings. I would not consider booking here EVER again.

It was a nice place to stay and very quiet. It was close to eating places and souvenirs stores and the beach approach. Cery convenient for quick places to visit. Breakfast could be better and I only saw the front desk guy when we checked in but all in all it was a good place to stay and we literally got the room same day.
