Casa Albergo
10/10 Excellent
"Great stay! Room huge and quiet.
Amenities of high quality.
Excellent breakfast.
Staff friendly.
Premises beautiful and relaxing.
Clearly no expense was spared to make this a high quality stay, we can highly recommend it.
The only small point of criticism is that the shower cubicle has no door, resulting in the bathroom floor getting flooded when one showers."

ANEW Hotel Centurion Pretoria
10/10 Excellent
"I made plans to arrive a day early for my scheduled safari tour which was gathering to begin our journey at this hotel. I reserved an extra night and was very happy with the hotel facilities.
I needed to eat dinner late that first night due to flight delays, and the hotel restaurant stayed open until 10. They were very gracious about me showing up nearly at closing time. I was able to order and eat while they cleaned up.
I grabbed a glass of wine at the bar which was also due to close at 10- and took it to my room to unpack. The hotel facilitated a tour of Soweto for me the next day.
The hotel advertises an airport shuttle, which was slightly difficult to arrange, but I was met at the airport with someone holding a sign with my name. He carried my bag to the car and drove me to the door and helped me in.
The hotel is not located in Pretoria proper, but they accommodated guests who wanted to arrange tours.
Nice room. Excellent, helpful staff."

Protea Hotel by Marriott Pretoria Loftus Park

"Yes the buffet was marvelous"

La Joya Lodge Conference Centre and Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful property with peaceful surrounds, spacious design inside and out, and good amenties.
However it is spoiled by an obvious management policy that's shoved in your face the minute you enter the property that you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol and if youy do, it will be confiscated if found.
I mean really, it's extremely off putting and petty. Even worse their wine line list is ordinary - at least provide the choice to spend money to buy premium wine to enjoy with your dinner if you so choose.
The attitude converyed by and extensive rules list of what is not allowed (no bluetooth speakers!) detracts from what is otherwise a beautiful environment and facilities is self defeating."

Menlyn Maine Luxury Rentals
6/10 Okay
"Shouldn't be termed luxury. It's like the Donald Trump of hotels, say it and it's so.
Air conditioning was not working. I don't term a queen bed as luxury, especially not one that moves everytime one of us moves.
The interleading door, while locked, is not soundproofed and that ensured hearing cackling from the neighbours after their night out until 4am.
Only one towel hook in the bathroom. NO euro plugs in the room, just one in the kitchen. The Netflix that they keep ok touting is just the app, you still need to sign in with your own account just like dstv streaming that is specified. Also, luxury in my mind means you at least get a bath sheet, but no, standard towels that could be fluffier.
Worst was the fact that the bathroom, or at least toilet, did not have a door. It is in full view of the bed and balcony, so be sure you travel with someone you are VERY intimate with. While I just got married a few months ago, we have not reached that level of comfortability with one another and I hope we never do.
It was clean though, definitely self catering with crockery and cutlery sufficient for your stay. Proximity to shops and Sunbet Arena can hardly be beaten. "
