"The hotel was under heavy renovation and it was pretty evident everywhere except for the front entrance area. The carpets in the hallway were extremely dirty and the stairway seemed to be falling apart. If it weren't for the renovations actively happening, I would have just assumed the place was falling apart. "Top marks for clean. Parking is a challenge, the subterranean lot is tight as a can of sardines. Location is great, lots of nearby restaurants, check out the Blue Hen across the street. Everything you see about thin walls is true. You can hear your neighbors clearly. Lucky it is not a party hotel, we did fine with noise after 10 pm. I liked the room, easy to spread out and relax. "We had an amazing stay. Everyone was very helpful and the hotel was very clean. All of the amenities were amazing and there was even more than I knew was included when I originally booked it. I loved that you could use all amenities a few hours before check in and also after checkout until 3pm. This was great for us because weather was not great for beach so we were able to use the pool and hot tub after checkout until 3pm. "Hotel Bethany Beach was lovely! We got vouchers for beach chairs and an umbrella every day, two free tickets for dino mini golf, and a decent breakfast every morning. The location is awesome; just minutes from the beach (you could walk, drive, or take the trolley). The staff were super friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!"

"Do not count on the sofa bed. It was awful—the worst sofa bed I have ever slept on. You could feel all the coils digging into your back, making it very uncomfortable. The microwave was also strange. When it was cold, the door was fine but as soon as it heated up, the door would lock and was difficult to open. The carpets did not appear to be clean or freshly washed. However, the hotel’s location was excellent and very convenient."
