El hotel tiene EXCELENTE localización en el mismo centro de Antigua que hace posible ir caminanado a los diferentes puntos de interés y restaurantes. El staff SUPER ATENTO y muy pendientes a que todo estuviera bien. Los desayunos includos con la estadía eran abundantes, con productos frescos y muy variados. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When we reported a little dust coming down from the wall onto the chair, they gave us another room even though we didn't ask for it. They also have a restaurant on a terrace with a beautiful view and delicious food.

El Carmen is an older building and so, while it has been rennovated, the age of the property is obvious. Location is great--just two blocks off the main plaza. Our room was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, the shower was great, but the room with two double beds was tiny and in a dark corner towards the back of the second floor. That lead to the Wifi not working very well. The staff tried to help, but we deduced that they may be in need of a new router. The AC worked well which was great because otherwise we would not have had air. Only one window that was way at the top and probably couldn't be opened. The best part of El Carmen is the rooftop restaurant that looks right on to Volcanes Agua, Acatenango, and Fuego. We really loved watching the sunset and Fuego as it erupted after dark. We made a point of coming up at sunrise as well. It would have cost a lot more to stay in a "fancier" place, so we felt we got good value for our money. Breakfast was included which was also a plus. In spite of a few downsides, I would definitely stay there again.

Views were wonderful from the rooftop. The breakfast was delicious as well. The concierge was amazing and helped us organize all of our transportation including the days we were spending outside of Antigua. The room was clean and comfortable and location was perfect I would stay here again, and recommend it.

I loved that El Carmen hotel was in the middle of all the activities and nightlife. It was super convenient to walk and safe. The Guatemalan people were very friendly and the food was exceptional. Breakfast was great and the view of the mountains were spectacular. I totally enjoyed my stay there and will return some day.

We loved our three night stay at the Carmen Hotel. The room was clean and well-maintained each day. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and we enjoyed them outside with an amazing view of the volcanoes. The staff was helpful when we had questions; there was always someone at the front desk. Plus it is very close to the central plaza. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The customer service here was excellent! From the front desk to the restaurant staff to the massage therapist. Everybody was so friendly, knowledgeable and proactive. The staff is what sets this place apart from others. The rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable. The A/C worked perfectly. The location is great being so close to the Parque Central. The whole experience was amazing. We will definitely be coming back. Could not recommend this place enough.
