"The Motel Bear Lake was all we wanted it to be My sister and I were born in the 50s and vacationed in Northern Michigan during our childhood. We met the owner during our stay and discovered that her desire to restore the motel to it's former 1960s glory is a labor of love based on her childhood memories. That brings a magic to the Motel Bear Lake! The beds were awesome and our check in was seamless with the no front desk and keypad lock. Thank you Motel Bear Lake for a wonderful 3rd annual sister weekend!! "

"For the price we were very satisfied with the room. My hubby has mobility issues and he absolutely loved the big walk in shower with the soft padded bench!!!! The breakfast amenities could be improved a lot but it was ok"

"When I looked at the review I saw it was a 10! I thought oh, no place is a 10, well this place is. Super clean well designed and provisioned. This is an older motel that has been upgraded. Great comfortable bed, nice kitchen with all the things u would need to cook a meal or two. Efficient bathroom that is super clean and has everything u need. Such a nice surprise! The check in is done on your phone and it went to junk mail folder. We got it straightened out pretty quickly. Just be aware more and more hotels are going to this system. I didn’t pay attention when it came in. I’ll stay there again when I come thru. "

"For the money this was an excellent choice. Room was neat, clean. All my needs were met. Breakfast was sufficient. Didn't use the pool but some youngsters were squealing in delight. I would stay here again!"

"Place was perfect. Plenty of space, nice little Playground , great pool and hot tub, little river. Property was kept beautifully and flawless communication. Close to a lot: Frankfort, sleeping bear dunes, traverse city. Couldn’t recommend it more."

"We were greeted as a welcome guest. Our room was above their dining area; which they offered to visit for great food. Our room was cozy and comfortable. We walked aroud the community and enjoyed the charm. We returned to the hotel for food and drinks. The food was great! Our stay was wonderful. We would stay again."
