"Not a 4 star hotel. Super dated old hotel and they don’t even try to maintain anything. When something breaks down, they don’t even try to fix it. We came into a hot room and the AC was not blowing, and they tried to gaslight me. Make me feel like I’m crazy. But we booked two rooms and the other room the AC was blowing just fine. They made it seem like we didn’t know how to use an AC and they did not change the room until the third time we asked. The balcony area looked really gross. Everything...

"What a lovely place to stay. The terrace, overlooking the river, was the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Breakfast itself provided and excellent selection too. The staff were very attentive, helping us get connected to their Internet and quickly replacing a malfunctioning kettle in the room. They were also very efficient when it came to getting a taxi or making reservations at restaurants. We would certainly stay here again if we came back to Porto. MS"

"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location was excellent, the staff were exceptionally friendly, and my room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. These qualities alone almost make me want to give the hotel a perfect 10. There were, however, a couple of minor disappointments. The gym was quite small and lacked sufficient equipment for a hotel of this caliber. I was able to get my workouts in, but I wish the facility had been larger and better equipped. "Very friendly and helpful staff, great bar and restaurant, excellent spa, indoor and outside pool options, great access to beach and boardwalk leading to Gaia and Espinho (two smaller cities south of Porto). Rooms also have great view. Very upscale. The only downside is that it’s about a 25 minute car ride to Porto, but the neighboring cities also offer a cool beach town experience (but definitely go to Porto). We would definitely return!"
